Thoughts about "Hollyoaks" - June 2019

Below are my thoughts on June 2019's "Hollyoaks" - this is not sequential.

Mitchell and Cleo continued to date. Mitchell's doctor mentor Levi, who is gay came to help diagnose Maxine, who unknown to everyone has Munchhausen syndrome. Levi and Scott like one another, though Levi doesn't seem to be into watching drag.

Breda and Jack continued dating, but Jack invited her to live with him. She didn't want to do it, and things got weird, and he proposed and she said no. Eventually Breda found out that Jack murdered someone when he was young, and freaked out, eventually when she discovered the whole story, she decided that she did want a relationship with him. Also while all of this was happening Brooke, Imran, Juliet, and Oliver went to the pig farm, where Louis was buried, but discovered nothing.

Grace's hit-and-run driver wasn't discovered yet. Grace is miserable in the wheelchair, and Liam feels guilty. Sylver is trying to be a good husband to a messed up Mercedes. Romeo and Harry bonded a bit, and James stayed on his boyfriend's side. That said Harry's alibi was a woman named Sadie, who he slept with between his relationship with Ste falling apart and his relationship with James got back on track. She was pregnant, and wanted money, and Harry was speaking with her that night.

Sinead got in trouble with the law for lying about when Laurie raped her (making false statements to the police). She was in prison, but plead guilty to get home. Laurie got Sally out as head teacher, as he shared the gossip about Sally and the late Neeta. Sally left a recording device to at the school to get evidence to nail Laurie. On the night of the prom (set up in flapper style, though with smoke, so Brooke wouldn't go in - poor dear), Laurie got in trouble. Diane had visited Sinead's brother Finn in prison, where he is serving time for rape. Diane found out what sort of person her stepson is, and confronted Laurie as he is the same kind of individual. Laurie then tried to attack Diane, and she ran, and Sienna and Sinead arrived. Laurie fell to the ground from an upper floor of the school, and was hospitalized. Due to Sally's equipment, they had proof that Laurie tried to rape Diane, so he was sent to recuperate while awaiting trial, though he would walk again.

Sami continued to be Sinead's lawyer, and they found out about all of the things Laurie did wrong, but had no proof before the accident. Liberty and Sami planned to be wed, and since Farah moved away Peri would take her place. We saw them in their traditional garb, which is always a bad sign that the ceremony won't happen. Liberty and Sami should have performed at the prom, but Sami went to Sinead, and then later when Liberty was singing a song she wrote for Sami, he didn't come. They went to a tasting for wedding cakes, and Sami confused Sinead's favorite of red velvet with Liberty's choice. Liberty realized that she was Sami's second choice, and that he fell in love with his client. She didn't want to be that girl in a romcom, and ended it. Sami went to Sinead, and she said there was no way after everything that happened with Laurie that she was in a romcom and didn't want that. Sami was left without a fiance or a new girlfriend.

Ste continued being close to the white supremacists choosing Johnny and Stuart over Leela and Peri. There was a near riot, but thankfully there were no serious injuries.

Nothing really happened with Mandy and Darren, Nancy and Kyle or Tom. Tony supported his family and was disgusted with Ste's behavior. Lisa got up in Liam's face about Mercedes, but the Deveraux/Loveday clan was quiet outside of work.

Those were the highlights for Hollyoaks in June 2019. I'm glad that Laurie's crimes finally were revealed and that after all this time Diane finally realized how she enabled her awful son Finn.
