Thoughts about "Hollyoaks" - April 2018

Here is my rundown post of what's happened on "Hollyoaks" in April 2018. This is not sequential.

Oliver continued to be groomed by Buster, though Oliver decided to stay in Hollyoaks for his team first, as his mother tried to make Luke fall off the wagon. Luke and Mandy discussed Luke adopting Ella, and Mandy started to relent about it.

Jack and Darcy got married, he got the good news he was well enough for surgery. Darcy freaked and decided she wanted to drug Jack to get his money. Esther drank the alcohol, and ended up in the hospital. Esther had decided to leave town, as she was so upset with Jack for forgetting Frankie and moving on so quickly. Darcy ran away with Glenn's help and money with little Toby. Once Esther was released from the hospital, she decided to go to Spain, with Ruby who returned to help her move. Jack and Esther reconciled, as did Esther and Darren, who Esther felt was choosing his father over Frankie. Esther and her family had a get together, so she was with Darren, Nancy, the boys, and Tom. Grace and Esther said goodbye, and Grace mouthed the words "I love you", and gave her a stack of cash to start her new life.

Peri returned home with her friend Harley, who tried and failed to get money for Leela for information on Peri. While living rough, their friend Dean died of exposure, on a tragic standalone episode. We found out the reason Harley was homeless, her family discovered she kissed a girl, and didn't approve of her. Peri told Harley, she cared for her, but didn't like her that way.

Lily had a pregnancy scare, which caused issues with her marriage to Prince. Cindy found a new man in Theo, Milo's brother. Milo's identity is still a secret, and Theo made him pay blackmail money.

Ryan went to prison for Amy's death, but still hasn't shared Kim's location. Farrah became more frustrated and worried. Ste and Harry are happy again, though Ste was in shock over what happened with Ryan. The kids are too. Tegan is out of her coma, though not able to speak well, she said she will be there for Leela. Harry had planned to live with James, but due to his relationship with Ste that didn't happen. Kyle was seeing James, and planning on destroying him for Sami. Alfie seems to be losing his sanity, and becoming paranoid about a meteor destroying the village.

Yasmin's lies about knowing Neeta due to getting her heart ended when she lost Neeta's iPad. Sienna's lies about cancer came out, and Joel got back together with Cleo. Cleo's bulimia was also discovered, and Myra was upset about all of it. She had been on Sienna's side until Myra found out about Sienna acting ill. Josh came to town, Josh's dad Ben is in jail due to protecting Nico.

Little Dee Dee is sick, and Tony and Diane aren't sure how to cope. They told the girl she was getting treatment, but didn't explain how dire it is. Since the girl is actually biologically a Lomax/Black, I'm hoping people who aren't Ste, and related to her find out about what is going on.

Courtney and Goldie teamed up to get back at Jesse, who was dating them both. They told him, they would be willing to share him on a schedule. At first, he thought this was great, but realized it was impossible. Eventually he wanted Courtney upsetting Goldie.

Adam slept with DI Roxy to get dirt on her so he won't have to be his father's mole. Maxine has no idea he cheated, and Adam and Glenn were getting closer due to working together in crime. Earlier in the month, Glenn got angry with Grace about a male associate, though she did not have to sleep with him.

Those are the highlights on Hollyoaks for April 2018. The Peri is homeless episode was a real heartbreak and one of only time lapse soap opera episodes I've ever seen and enjoyed. Esther's departure was also well done, and nice to see some leave alive, relatively happy, and not in trouble with the law.
