Thoughts about "The Doctors" - October 1975

Another month's worth of episodes of "The Doctors" has aired on RetroTV. Below are my thoughts on what has aired for the month of October 1975.

Mike was still out of town. Toni spent more time working then doing much of anything else. Also Alan tried to get Toni to have dinner with him by inviting Matt and Maggie. After the fact, Toni told him, she didn't like being manipulated by her sorta former husband (as their marriage wasn't legal.)

Althea started spending a bit of time with Scott, an attorney. She testified in court for him, though this was off camera. Matt and Maggie discussed how Greta is getting older, and boys are becoming interested. There was no movement though about them giving Greta "the talk".

Tom went to the doctor off camera, and still is angry all the time. We also found out that Hank's life with Lauri wasn't good anymore.

Stacy and Rico continued to date, Penny didn't have much to do, though she doesn't like them together. MJ was at work at the hospital primarily.

Daniel Grady and Edna Ackerman, Althea's patients decided to become a couple. They would have to live in sin (off camera) like the young kids do as neither can afford to marry and give up the money the government gives them as retirees.

Matt and Hank conned Mona into giving money to the paramedical unit. The irony was she knew what they were doing, and would have donated anyway. (It feels like the program has forgotten that Hank lives on the Aldrich property, so even if he doesn't know Mona, she would have heard things from other members of her family.)

Carolee and Steve were finally able to speak to Judge Bowman about Erich. They explained how Karen was keeping him away, and the boy's general unhappiness running away to their house. Later the judge also spoke to Karen and Erich separately. Erich spoke about wanting to go home to be with his family. Karen realized that Erich was going to be returned to her ex-husband and was upset over it. Of course, Steve, Carolee, and Mona were all happy about this development. On the night before Judge Bowman was to decide Erich's living arrangement, he was kidnapped from Karen's apartment. Ernie was at Martha's house, when he got the call about the situation.

Those were the highlights for October 1975. There was only one preempted episode (October 23), and no episodes were missing. Seeing Erich be held hostage and tied up was so disturbing, so I hope his captivity ends quickly.
