B&B: More on Bill's Shooting

I wrote a post about Bill's shooting on "The Bold and the Beautiful", but since then there have been some developments. Below are my thoughts on them.

Liam (Scott Clifton) thought he tried to kill his father Bill (Don Diamont). It was a false memory, and it was Taylor (Hunter Tylo) who did the crime. No one knew that Taylor slipped into town, shot Bill, and left, as she interacted with no one. She came back, admitted what she did, and disappeared again for Europe. Only Bill and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) know the truth. Bill blackmailed Steffy into signing the annulment papers and giving them to Liam, as otherwise he would tell everyone about Taylor's actions.

This feels like a cop-out, as Liam isn't the shooter, and the shooter was on for less than a week, announcing her crimes and went away. This isn't the first time B&B has done this, and I don't get the rationale for it. I understand why Liam couldn't ultimately be the shooter, but having someone do a guest stint only to go after interacting with two characters is strange. When I wonder if an appearance is solely for the money and/or health insurance that isn't a good sign. The show even teased the return on social media using Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and yet they didn't interact, and Hunter Tylo hasn't worked with either Thorsten Kaye or Ingo Rademacher, since either took over the roles of Ridge and Thorne respectively, and her character was involved with both in serious relationships.
