Y&R: 45th Anniversary Celebrated on "The Talk"

Today (March 20, 2018), members of the cast of "The Young and the Restless" appeared on "The Talk". Below are my thoughts about this and spoilers about what happened.

The show began with Sheryl Underwood and Jason Thompson on "The Young and the Hostless", which was a soap opera parody. It included eyebrow acting, which is something I've seen more in soap parody than actual soap.

The cast included (in the order they were spoken to during the group interview) were: Peter Bergman  (Jack), Amelia Heinle (Victoria), Bryton James (Devon), Mishael Morgan (Hilary), Jason Thompson (Billy), and Gina Tognoni (Phyllis). (That was the order they were sitting with Peter the furthest from the camera in the front row, and then clockwise, so everyone was sitting in front of their on screen former spouse) Without advertisements, the section with the cast was between 15-20 minutes. There was a montage with moments through the years starting in the 70s, but with more focus in recent years. Everyone got a question of their own, where they discussed story past and present. Peter spoke about the Victor rivalry, Amelia working with Thad, Bryton about playing a deaf character, Mishael about her real life pregnancy, while Jason and Gina talked about being with the show and story. The second segment had the cast each have a question about past story with clips. Thankfully everyone knew their answer, so the audience each got a necklace.

The official YouTube page for "The Talk" has over 10 minutes of the footage posted.

The first video is with Peter, Amelia, and Bryton speaking.

The second video features Mishael, Jason, and Gina.

The third video is the clip challenge and is the longest at 7 minutes.

Anyway I'm glad that CBS did something to promote Y&R's 45th anniversary.
