Thoughts about "Hollyoaks" - February 2018

Here is my rundown post of what's happened on "Hollyoaks" in February 2018. This is not sequential.

Oliver (Luke's son with Scarlett) during the marriage that was off camera decided to stay in Hollyoaks with Luke. He ran away from his mother, and she had no choice to let him stay.

Maggie's former husband Buster is in town. He abandoned Damon and Maggie when Damon was a little kid. Buster hit on Myra, but now is seemingly dating Marnie. Thankfully she only is on partial house arrest and has a monitor, and didn't have to go to prison for protecting her daughter.

Tegan is still in a coma, Peri sometimes visits her in the hospital. After everything came out about her not being pregnant, she was thrown out of the McQueens. Lily was horrified to find out that her Aunt Diane convinced Peri to lie to everyone about being pregnant. Lily and Prince got engaged again. Peri ran away from home, even Tom wouldn't let her stay with them, as they should've been her first stop not her last. Mandy tried to convince her to return. After seeing Leela and Louis together, she believed that her mother didn't care. Shane stole the money that Louis took from Simone as a reward to get Peri back. Simone was angry, but the others blamed her even though she had nothing to do with it.

Ryan left town, after kidnapping Kim and stashing her in the destroyed school. Leah and Charlie went to the school together, after Leah went with Ella who was scared. Leah heard Kim, but wasn't able to help. Ste went in later with Leah, and heard Kim. Unfortunately she hasn't been rescued though we get these odd scenes of her and a Rick Astley poster. Yes "Hollyoaks" rickrolls us in 2018. Sami acted like Kim left Farrah on purpose, though it was due to protecting himself from ridicule. Once Farrah found out that Kim was missing, she wanted to find her.  Leah found the SIM card that Ryan dropped, and discovered Ste and Ryan's relationship. She was upset, and Ste admitted that it only happened after her Mum died.

Darcy is continuing to seduce Jack.  The family realizes she is up to something, but don't know it is a wedding and then figuring out how to kill him from the insurance money.

Maxine and Adam got back together, and Adam finally knows what kind of man his father is: a lying criminal. He ends up getting stuck, and having to live between the good and the bad. The charges against Jesse were dropped for exporting drugs. (Grace didn't realize drugs were in the truck, and Glen was upset she did this.) Eventually Glenn proposed to Grace, but the relationship is very dysfunctional, and she is being mentally manipulated by him. Adam found out about Glenn's activities from the judge who had to drop the charges against Jesse due to blackmail.

Granny Campbell nearly got away with stealing Iona from Courtney and whisking her back to Scotland. She made Courtney believe she was an unfit mother (suffering from post-natal depression), which was not the case. Jesse realized what she was doing, and the evidence was presented. Glenn had been helping Granny, until he found out that she wanted to take the baby out of Hollyoaks. Granny left in disgrace, and Jesse and Courtney were happy.

Goldie came for a quick visit and ended up back in prison. She and Jesse almost reconciled, but the timing was wrong due to Courtney. Goldie took Peri to task about faking the pregnancy and DI Thorpe recognizing her put her away.

Luke, Mandy, Tony, Diane, Darren and Nancy's restaurant opened, which ended up being called "The Hutch". It seems like Tom is a silent partner. Tony's friend Finn and former business partner in an earlier restaurant is back in town. He wanted to get in on the action.

Mandy and Darren continued their affair, even though both felt guilty about hurting their loved ones. They stole the footage from Esther's shop, thinking they'd be discovered and saw Peri. This is why Mandy spoke to her about coming home. (The fact that Peri didn't realize that Mandy was family to her daughter Steph and lived with Tom shows how much attention she paid to Tom and Steph.)

Dirk continued to be on the outs with Cindy, and ended up moving in with the Maliks. We found out everything that Sami did to get back at James, including beating him. (Sad to say it was a good thing that he wasn't beaten for his sexuality.) Sami made Harry and James believe that Harry told the police about James pimping him. Harry couldn't do it, and James didn't confess, so while Harry is still in prison for a murder he didn't commit James is free. James' family found out what he did to Harry and they disowned him. One night Misbah and Dirk went to trivia night with Imran, which was a disaster until Cleo decided to make the questions more age appropriate. Misbah and Imran's relationship got ugly due to how she chose Yasmine over him. He ended up hitting his mother.

Cleo has an eating disorder and is upset over Joel and Sienna being a couple. She lied to get closer to him, and he admitted to not loving her anymore.

Alfie was missing Jade, and went a bit crazy. He decided to make robot and use virtual reality to make a new Jade. Milo showing a bit of sanity thought this was a bad idea.

Myra and Sally finally made it official. They are a couple, and Myra doesn't care if anyone knows. At first when Buster hit on her, she pulled away from Sally, but got her head cleared and Sally is the one for her. There was euphemistic speech about Myra and Sally's relationship, which got lost in translation as it was about dessert (but the other kind). Eventually they got more parity, and that's all I can say.

Those are the highlights on Hollyoaks for February 2018. There was material with Myra as a fortune teller (with some flashforwards to future events, but for the sake of this blog entry am not mentioning their contents.) If and when they happen, I will write about those situation.
