GH: Short Summaries of Six Marathon Episodes

Below are my short summaries of six of the episodes that aired on the GH50 marathon on SoapNet this weekend. These covers the episodes that aired between 1983 and 1993.

February 4, 1983

Susan is cheated out of little Jason's money by Heather and Scotty. (Though we don't see them in this episode.) Robert rushes to the hospital as Holly is leaving the country. She's pregnant with Luke's child. Luke has amnesia and is in the hospital. Blackie brings Lou to his family home.

May 13, 1983

Jake (Sam Behrens) is Lou's lawyer. She wants to be adopted by Rose and they are in court. Luke gets angry with Holly over how she married his best friend Robert. They talk about everything that happened, and he falls down due to his injuries. Luke didn't come back because he thought that he'd never walk again. Luke is horrified that Holly and Robert became more than friends. Tiffany shares with Rose and Jake that Luke is alive and Lou and Blackie find out later. Robert goes to Kelly's as he is looking for Luke. Blackie offers to go with Robert, but he feels that he needs to speak with Luke alone. The episode ends with Robert seeing Luke on the docks. Luke is crying and is walking with a cane, he turns around as the show fades to black.

September 11, 1984

The Quartermaines are up early or stayed up really late as Beatrice died, and they are concerned one of them will be blamed. Lila comes in to find Alan, Edward, and Monica discussing the situation. Robert and Holly are also discussing Beatrice's unnatural death, which ties into the spa. Holly and Beatrice had worked together. Frisco questions Felicia over how she stole from him. She accidentally breaks her ankle. Frisco won't allow anyone to treat her other than his brother Dr. Tony Jones. Frisco and Felicia are still being followed, and he asks Tony for help. Bobbie and DL are married: his daughter Terry wants Bobbie to wash her laundry. DL came home and wanted her to do as Terry asked. Jimmy Lee Holt goes to the Q mansion about his mother Beatrice's death. Jimmy Lee went to the police station and confronted Robert for his help. The autopsy report is in, and it is revealed that Beatrice died of a drug overdose. Jimmy Lee became livid as his mother didn't use drugs.

June 23, 1986

It is Frisco and Felicia's wedding day. Sean gives Felicia away and an honor guard from the police is there as part of the ceremony. Robin is the flower girl, and she already has newcomer Duke wrapped around her finger. Tony and Tania are married, and she's pregnant with BJ. Frisco and Felicia share their first dance, while he sings "Lady of my Heart" to her. Tony gives a speech and the wedding cake is cut. Anna caught the bridal bouquet, while Duke ended up with the garter belt. We don't see this, but Sean and Monica set up Sean's penthouse for the newlyweds. Alan thinks they will be using it for themselves. He breaks into the place, while everyone is at the wedding and reception at the brownstone. Alan finds a bank book, with an amount of money that was close to what was stolen from the Q family. He and his lackey end up locked outside the suite on the balcony. Edward runs into Monica and Sean in the bar. Trying to catch Monica and Sean, Alan interrupts Frisco and Felicia's honeymoon and says he wishes them the best. Thankfully this happened before they consummated their marriage and gave Alan a real show.

February 18, 1991

Anna finds Frisco at Kelly's and tells him that he needs to go untie Robert. She had handcuffed him, and was concerned by Robert's reaction. Frisco goes to his place and lets him go. Robert goes back to Anna's and she points a gun at him thinking he is a prowler. He tries to seduce her, and when she gets interested he backs off and leaves. Frisco and Robert are then at the docks. He remembers times with Anna. At Kelly's, Jenny is getting ready for the protest. Robin is sitting at a table and won't move. Eventually she helps fold things for the protestors. Robert finds Robin and goes off on her. She tells Anna what happened, and Anna decides to join the protest to rile Robert. They get into it at the harbor. Jenny goes on a small plastic raft interrupting Anna and Robert's discussion.

Tracy wants to hold a party, and Alan tells her it is inappropriate. Ned and his father Lord Ashton are also there. The protest has to do with an ELQ boat coming into the harbor with hazardous materials. Monica comes in and supposedly three people are protesting at Tracy's house. The ELQ boat named Tracy explodes and Ned is able to see it from an upstairs window at the party.  Robert rescues someone from the harbor and then throws him back into the water. Anna asks who it was, and he says his brother. At the time, Anna and Robert were all about sexual tension, eventually they did get back together and wed later that year.

November 8, 1993

Luke and Laura are on the run together, and nearly go over a waterfall. They are rescued in a helicopter, and end up crashing a wedding reception. Laura wants to find her bag, which could be anywhere. Thankfully it falls from a tree. Luke and Laura find an abandoned house and she wants to inside. Jason and Brenda are at Kelly's when Karen's mother Rhonda enters the place. We see Brenda recall all the warning signs in regards to Ray. Rhonda remembers Karen telling her that she was raped by Ray numerous times, while Rhonda was in the other room. Sly and Lucky are talking together. Felicia and Robin are hanging out as Felicia has offered to teach her how to drive as she just got her learner's permit. There is talk about the differences between men and women drivers, and Felicia points out that Mac has gotten tickets for his driving. Mac gets upset as he wants to instruct his niece, as he feels like she is doing this just to see him on a daily basis.

AJ and Edward are talking about the problems Ned and Julia are having. AJ wants to prove himself to his grandfather. Jason talks to his father Alan about how Karen was molested by Ray. Alan calls Rhonda's and hears Rhonda and Ray fighting. He rushes over there, and exclaims that he has an errand before the banquet, so AJ and Jason should go by themselves. Alan gets Ray off of Rhonda, pushes him into a window killing Ray, though at the end of the episode we don't know he is dead and Rhonda is alive.

The first 1983 episode was a good introduction to what was going on in the second 1983 episode, but not much happened that day. The 1984 episode showed that Holly and Robert weathered Luke's return and stayed together, and early on in Frisco and Felicia's relationship. We also were given an idea of how Bobbie had mellowed as she had gotten older. The 1986 wedding of Frisco and Felicia seemed to be chosen to highlight that couple along with Duke and Anna who are currently on the program. The 1991 episode showed Robert and Anna interested in one another. The 1993 episode was different in tone than the rest, as the 1991 more closely resembled the 80s episodes. What was interesting was that nearly every episode had some humor and drama.
