B&B: Rick and Maya

On the Bold & the Beautiful, Rick (Jacob Young) became mesmerized by Maya (Karla Mosley) as she sang at Dazyee's coffee shop. Rick had wanted to have Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) volunteer as part of their date, and she rebuffed him leaving him alone.

When watching this I wondered are they trying to make Caroline evil or free her up again for Thomas (Adam Gregory)? Rick and Caroline shared "I love you" very quickly, and since her accident she's been missing. Of course, perhaps the personality change could be due to her falling over a balcony. The triangle of Thomas, Caroline and Rick was ended abruptly after Caroline chose Rick and then started to work for him. There was barely any awkwardness and the program focused on the rivalry between Rick and Thomas professionally instead of personally.

I wonder though what kind of conflict Maya and Rick would have. So far Rick has no idea about Maya's past in prison and she has no idea of how he is the President of Forrester Creations. Rick's brother Marcus (Texas Battle) is married to Dazyee (Kristolyn Lloyd), who helped give Maya's baby up for adoption. The baby along with the adoptive parents died, and so far Maya has been calm about it. I wonder if this is an act or if there is more to the story.

Hopefully this story will continue and not be a dead end for the characters. Like Maya, Rick has lost a child, so he should be sympathetic to her. Also in the telling, I'd prefer if there were no villains.
