The 50th Anniversary marathon for General Hospital began airing tonight. Unfortunately many of us no longer have access to Soapnet.
Some of these episodes already are posted online, or will be done as the weekend progresses. If and when I find them I'll share the link in a blog entry after the marathon is finished. The first three episodes in the marathon are already posted. LoriJoGH put up the 1963 and November 16, 1981 episodes tonight on the linked channel. The third episode, which was Luke and Laura's (Tony Geary & Genie Francis) wedding from November 17, 1981 is already online on that channel as it has been shown numerous times on SoapNet. During the marathon, they even suggest logging into GetGlue.com to get stickers. I was able to view the April 1, 1963 episode. It felt like a very different General Hospital and not just because it was in black and white. That said seeing John Bernadino makes my heart feel warm as Steve Hardy was a very important part of GH when I started watching it in the 80s. The only other people I recognized in this episode were Jessie Brewer (Emily McLaughlin) and Phil (just because Ray Thinnes, who I've watched on other soaps were on it.)
