Days: Gabi & Nick Wed

On Friday, March 15, 2013, Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) and Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) married in the Horton living room. The duo had tried to wed earlier, but the ceremony was interrupted by Chad (Casey Deidrick) during the show's 12,000 episode.

Since their last ceremony many things happened to Nick and Gabi. Everyone found out that Will (Chandler Massey) was the father of Gabi's unborn child. Gabi also nearly lost the child because she went into premature labor after Sami (Alison Sweeney) harassed her. Nick used this to his advantage and blackmailed Will into giving up his rights to his daughter. Will and Sonny (Freddie Smith) have also recently reunited after Will had a steamy dream about Sonny in the shower.

Nick's reason for wanting the baby for Gabi only was about control and his bigotry. He did not approve of Will being gay and felt that he should not be able to raise his child. Since Nick discovered that Lucas (Bryan Datillo) went to prison for shooting EJ (James Scott) to protect Will, he had the ammunition to tear the child away.  Only EJ, Sonny, Will, Lucas and Sami and now Nick know what Will and Lucas did. Prior to the wedding Will's grandmother Kate (Lauren Koslow) gave Gabi earrings, though she has no idea what Nick did. On the day of the event, Caroline (Peggy McKay) gave Gabi a present: a Bible from her wedding day. Gabi and Nick left the Brady Pub together to get married by the justice of the peace.

At the house, Gabi and Nick were surrounded by some of Nick's family and Gabi's brother Rafe (Galen Gerring). Rafe, who wasn't too happy about the wedding supported it, because Gabi is the only family he has in Salem. Gabi's something new was a shawl from Nick's mother Jessica, who did not attend the wedding. Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) gave her the something borrowed a bracelet that belonged to Alice, which would one day belong to her.  The wedding with the Justice of the Peace was short, but heartfelt, though their are lies between the couple.

Meanwhile Vargas (Sean Douglas), a new character who was in prison with Nick, is coming to Salem. He blames Nick for keeping him incarcerated for three additional years, and will be part of Father Eric's (Greg Vaughn) prison outreach program living at the rectory.

A part of me wonders if this wedding will be Gabi and Nick's last bit of happiness before everything goes downhill in their relationship. Gabi loves Will as a friend and has no problem with his homosexuality. She was one of the first people who supported him, so when she finds out what Nick did, her reaction should not be favorable. Vargas is also a threat to Gabi and Nick's relationship as he may hurt one or the other. Sami also wants to get Nick out of the picture, and her machinations may be another reason for the couple's union to be dissolved.
