The newest resident of "The Bold & the Beautiful" is Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey). She moved from New York City to Los Angeles to work at Forrester Creations. Caroline is the daughter of Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and the niece of Ridge's (Ronn Moss) deceased wife Caroline. This entry has some spoilers, so if you don’t read them stop here.
Caroline interacted with her family in Los Angeles also. She saw her Uncle Bill (Don Diamont) and her cousin Liam (Scott Clifton) along with their love interests Katie (Heather Tom) and Hope (Kim Matula).
Even though Caroline is a new character, she has had a lot to do so far in both business and romance. Thomas (Adam Gregory) and Rick (Jacob Young) are having a rivalry over her. They want to design with her and date her. Taylor (Hunter Tylo) wants what her son wants, so if Thomas wants Caroline, she supports him. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is rooting for Rick and Caroline as she brought her to town to keep him from Amber (Adrienne Franz). Amber has a complex history with the family, which started back when she seduced Rick when she was his babysitter. Liam, Hope, Rick, Caroline and Thomas all played hooky from their respective jobs to have a pool party. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) also showed up at the Forrester house that afternoon.
Amber was frustrated and jealous of Caroline liking Rick. To dissuade Caroline, Amber created pictures via digital magic that had Rick wearing a dress. This freaked Caroline out and she cancelled their date. Considering it has been spoiled that her mother is a lesbian, it was somewhat surprising that Caroline would have an issue with that. (We are going to meet her other mom played by Crystal Chappell later this Spring.) Of course, in the 1990s, Karen had male suitors, but things can change in over a decade.
Thomas ended up going out with Caroline to the Bikini Bar. He set up a romantic moment on the beach with a special menu just for her. Of course, Caroline going out with another guy upset Rick, and he wondered what Amber did to make her call off last minute.
Since Forrester Creations is a family business, Thomas and Rick are related though not by blood. Thomas and Rick are stepbrothers, and Rick’s father Eric (John McCook) is a grandfather to Thomas, as he raised Thomas’s father Ridge as his own.
Caroline also had a moment with Ridge, about what he went through when he lost his former wife. We saw in flashback Ridge giving his wife Caroline, all the charms he planned for her, as he knew that she was dying. Then young Caroline shared how she has a foundation in honor of her Aunt, and a tattoo of a Cancer ribbon on the nape of her neck. Ridge and Caroline cried over the shared loss, as even if she never knew her namesake, her legacy lives on in her.
Caroline has to make a choice between the two guys and whether or not she wants to mix business with her romantic relationships. While she can choose who she dates, when it comes to whom she is partnered with at the design firm she may not have a choice. Since Ridge is the CEO, he ultimately will have to decide, who works with whom on each of the clothing lines. Perhaps Ridge will make an interesting choice and decide to have Caroline work with Steffy or Hope to keep the peace.
