On the episode of The Young & The Restless that aired in the US today, Jana (Emily O’Brien) died. Perhaps her earlier health problems led to her death, but she didn’t meet her end before causing a lot of problems.
Jana was in love with Kevin, but that love turned into obsession. He moved on with Chloe after she cheated. Instead of taking it well, Jana was determined to get him back and allowed him to believe she forgot they divorced.
She faked moving on, while in truth she was looking for ways to make an opening. Due to Kevin’s family having mob connections, he broke up with Chloe, so Jana made her move. She thought that now they could recapture their relationship, but it was too late.
Kevin dreamt of being part of the life of Daisy’s baby. This child was innocent, and needed family. Jana wanted to help him find the child. The baby was right under their noses. Billy and Victoria were raising her as Lucy Abbott. He had gotten the baby illegally, but had no idea she was Daisy/Daniel’s until Daniel figured it out and told him. Jana was the nanny for the child he sought. What amazing luck for her.
Billy and Victoria supported Jana even though most people had given up on her. Victoria even asked Jana to be her attendant at their wedding. Chloe warning the couple that Jana was dangerous, but they did not heed her words.
Jana betrayed her friends Billy and Victoria by kidnapping Lucy along with Chloe and Billy’s daughter Delia. She hadn’t wanted to take Delia, but she was a witness. Jana took them to an abandoned pre-school by the train tracks. She called Kevin, who had no idea that Jana took the kids without permission and walked into her trap. At first he was thrilled to find out about Lucy, but became horrified when she wouldn’t let him leave.
Eventually Kevin convinced Jana to let the kids go and they were returned to their parents. Kevin and Jana left them in a church. Kay and Murphy found them and looked after them until their parents arrived. Unfortunately Jana realized that Kevin didn’t want her and snapped.
Pointing the gun at Kevin, she forced him back to the school. The plot continued and Jana took Kevin by gunpoint to a train station. He bought tickets, but they didn’t go on the train. Due to what happened at the train station, the police believe that Kevin is helping Jana, but that isn’t the case. A lot of the time Jana was keeping Kevin in a closet, and due to his past issues this was making him lose it.
Gloria and Chloe campaigned for Kevin. They know he didn’t do anything wrong. Kay helped too as Kevin helped her in the past. Thankfully Chloe got a break as an even more unhinged Jana called her to the school building. Jana and Chloe got into a fight over the gun. To protect Kevin, Chloe hadn’t called the cops before she left, which may come back to haunt them as Jana died.
Now that Jana is gone, will it be smooth sailing for Chloe and Kevin? I doubt it. People suspected Kevin was a kidnapper, so will the cops believe him. This situation opened up the custody issue over Delia. Billy will fight for the girl, and will Chloe be able to compete and keep their daughter. We shall see in the coming weeks on Y&R.

is anyone else freaking out about jana's death?? i have loved her character and the actress for as long as she's been on. i'm truly very saddening by her abrupt death. i realize she was acting really annoying because of her illness, but why did they kill her?! did the actress need to leave or something? is there any way she's alive?? :( i'm so sad!!!
