Days: Chloe is Pregnant

On Days of our Lives, Chloe Lane discovered she was pregnant after her elevator crashed. While engaged and living with her fiancé Daniel, Chloe cheated on him with her ex-flame Philip, who happens to be married to Daniel’s daughter Melanie. Chloe had been set up by Vivian to believe her intended was unfaithful with Carly, who is Melanie’s mother.


Unfortunately for Chloe, Carly and Nathan know she cheated on Daniel. Finding out Vivian was involved, makes Carly at least feel some sympathy for her, as Vivian is doing her best to ruin Carly’s life. Nathan is keeping quiet because while Daniel is his mentor at work, they aren’t close personally. Thankfully for Chloe, neither Carly nor Nathan knows that Philip was the man she had sex with that night.

Chloe and Philip’s tryst occurred due to them not having all the information. Daniel lied to Chloe about getting surgery. She was then told by people hired by Vivian that Daniel and Carly left the hospital and ended up at a sleazy motel that has rooms by the hour. So Chloe believed Daniel was cheating on her. Philip saw Nathan and Melanie kiss in the kitchen of Maggie’s home and believed they were having an affair. Both of them were in a very bad place when they had sex and neither expected to cheat. Unlike some one night stands in soaps, Philip and Chloe were upset, but they weren’t drunk beyond reason, and while they moved on to other people they still care about one another as friends.

Carly threatened to tell Daniel about Chloe two-timing him. When she was about to share the news, interruptions took place. Now with the pregnancy, Carly has told Chloe, she must tell Daniel the truth only if the child is not Daniel’s biologically. As long as Carly keeps her mouth shut, she may get blamed regardless of the outcome. Carly lied about Melanie for two decades and she was raised with an abusive father. Daniel had no idea that he even had a child, until Melanie was accidently shot by Carly. Keeping Chloe’s secret is not going to endear her to Daniel and Melanie even if Carly had no idea it was Philip.

Finding out Chloe was pregnant, upset Philip and he asked if he was the father. Chloe admitted to him she did not know. He told her if he was the fetus’s father, he would stand by her. And the people in the audience who want Phloe back together rejoiced. Daniel while not suspecting Chloe is frustrated over how Philip and Chloe are so close to each other. He wants Philip to be only in her life as her soon to be stepson-in-law.

Let’s get this straight if Philip is the father of Chloe’s baby, he will tell the truth which most certainly destroy his marriage. Even if Philip isn’t the father, I can’t see Melanie accepting Philip sleeping with her soon to be stepmom. Once Carly finds out that Chloe slept with Philip, she’s going to be upset as again she lied to her daughter. Melanie may grow closer to Nathan, but if she finds out that Nathan knew Chloe was unfaithful, she won’t want to be with him. If Nathan and Melanie start spending time together again, Stephanie may be upset. As Philip’s former fiancé, she has moved on with Nathan.

I think Chloe being pregnant with Philip’s child provides more story than if Daniel is the dad. Daniel finding out Chloe cheated would be hard for him to bear, but he may forgive her. If Chloe keeps Philip’s name out of it, then there is no additional reverberations. If Philip’s the dad, we have issues like Victor and Kate. Victor and Kate love their son, but hate Chloe. Having her being a permanent blood relative would not excite them. Kate even tried to kill Chloe after she cheated on her son Lucas with Daniel, who had been her love interest. Victor is married to Vivian now, and her actions partly brought Philip and Chloe together. Victor won’t be thrilled that in trying to get revenge on Carly that he godson was hurt. Of course, this situation may give Victor something to commiserate with Maggie. Maggie is Melanie’s “surrogate” mom, and she already lived through Chloe destroying her marriage to Lucas, which sent him back to rehab.

Since this is Salem, even if the DNA tests come back with either Daniel or Philip listed as the father, they may not be legitimate. Hopefully whichever way the show goes we get explosive blow ups and potential new pairings. In a few months, we may see Melanie back with Nathan, Carly and Daniel and Philip and Chloe together again, but then again maybe not. Chloe thought she may never get pregnant, but we won't know if it will actually be a miracle of a story.
