Thoughts about "Neigbours" - September 2019

Below is my August entry about "Neighbours" for 2019.

Elly was okay after her fall, then her life got more stressful and she left town to rest.

Bea and Finn continued to date. Ned met a woman called Scarlet whose marriage didn't happen, and her fiance left her in her wedding dress. Now Scarlett has followed Ned to Erinsborough and is trying to ingratiate herself with Ned. At the end of the month, she caused an accident, which shocked Bea.

Terese and Paul got married, out of town. With his former wife and her twin in attendance. The officiant was an Elvis impersonator. Paul's daughter was trying to stop the wedding, and we saw her via webcam only. Leo knew what was going on, and helped out, and decided to leave town. This upset David. David and Aaron threw themselves into helping Elly in regards to her pregnancy, and Finn became jealous on behalf of his brother, and made a comment about how they could just have a child, which is cruel to say to two married men. Eventually the four guys went together to a child rearing class,  after Shawn came to town.

Gary was trying to deal with Amy and Kyle dating. Sheila had her birthday, and was upset because Clive broke up with her due to Sheila's crazy behavior of hiding evidence to protect Gary. Roxy and Mark were seeing each other secretly, but it was revealed to all at Sheila's party. Roxy was drunk and jumped on Mark in his police uniform and kissed him. Before everyone knew, Harlow kept it secret by making Roxy do chores on her behalf. While Terese and Paul were away, Sheila was checking in on the girls.

Mackenzie being trans was discovered by everyone. There was a controversy at school, where she was told to use the special accommodation toilet instead of the girls' room. Everyone boys and girls stood up for her and waited for the "special" lavatory. Shane was friends with Mac's parents, and told her father before she was ready. As Mackenzie was so little, she couldn't explain it. This broke her parents up, so she felt completely betrayed. Shane had been one of her defenders, but had really hurt her years earlier.

Chloe is dealing with Pierce and the discovery of his son Hendrix (who also has a sister who is off camera). Pierce hadn't told anyone about his kids. Hendrix is a troubled teen, who was thrown out of school.

Those were the highlights of September 2019. It is a bit surprising how Neighbours is handling a trans story, as I didn't think this was something they would write about, especially due to its rating.
