Nick was hated by nearly everyone in Salem. The only people who seemed to get along with him were his elderly relatives and small children. Only his cousin Julie, Maggie and Allie seemed to be upset. Here is a list of his most recent "crimes" along with other reasons, why people felt relieved that Nick was dead. This isn't a complete list as I wouldn't be surprised if Days added additional motivations.
- He got scandalous photos of Abby and EJ having sex. Of course, this was enough to upset Abby, and it got worse when he called her EJ's whore. That reaction from Nick gave me the giggles as it was perfectly hilarious. Ben also attacked him in anger due to what happened between Abby and Nick.
- Nick came back from the dead and was able to manipulate everyone involved. That said Kate, Sami and Gabi tried to kill him. Only Gabi's actions were justified.
- He convinced Gabi to try to get nearly sole custody of baby Ari. This upset everyone involved and Sonny even went to find a gun.
- Due to the blackmail, Nick was working for Kate. This would be a reason for her to be upset. Lucas, being Kate's son and Will's father wanted Will to see his daughter.
- Nick knew that Will shot EJ and Lucas went to prison for the crime. This was yet another reasons for Will's family to be against Nick.
That's my short list. I hope I didn't forget anything important.
