GH: AJ's Funeral about everything, but AJ

Last week, General Hospital had a service for AJ Quartermaine. Instead of it "honoring" the character as such, it was used to forward stories. Here is a quick summary of what is going on with them.

We barely saw Monica grieve the death of the last of her children. None of Monica's friends were at the event, though it was nice that Ned was visiting Port Charles. Of course, Ned being there gave me flashbacks to Monica's affair with Ned before they realized she was his Aunt by marriage, but I digress. Instead the memorial was more about Luke and Sonny. I'll summarize both plots as far as we've seen them.

Ned's return wasn't about consoling Monica, but being there for his mother Tracy. Tracy doesn't believe that anything is going on with her on-again off-again husband Luke. (That truly is an "only in the soaps" kind of thing for the most part.) Everyone else sees what he is doing as suspect even little Spencer knows something is wrong with his "Uncle Luke." Luke is actually his Aunt Lulu and Uncle Lucky's Dad, so perhaps Great Uncle Luke would be more appropriate that or that he is Step-Grandfather (when he was married to Nik's mother)... Nik found Spencer with Sonny and was angry that he disobeyed, though unfortunately for Spencer no one believes him. Luke had been hitting on Kiki, who is Michael's girlfriend. Due to the age difference and the fact that the advantages were unwanted and unprovoked were very offensive. This is a huge reason that we know something is wrong with Luke other than how Luke is going after Sonny. Luke realized that the others were trying to bait him, and fended off Kiki's fake advances, so Tracy stayed clueless as to Luke's nefarious plans to steal her money.

Sonny went to the Quartermaines to support Michael, though Michael has no idea that the memorial wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for Sonny. There is an old cliche in mysteries to find out who the killer is go to the funeral. In this case, it would be appropriate as Sonny's shot caused his death. Michael is clueless about this situation sadly. Sonny has been shutting out everyone including his lady love Olivia. Only Ava and Carly know what is going on, but Sonny has been relying on his former enemy for help. Sonny wouldn't be going to Ava if he knew that she killed Connie. So it is truly all Ava's fault. Anyway Ava and Sonny were chatting in the crypt. Then they weren't chatting as they had sex among the Quartermaine remains. That's one of the sicker places to have sex I've ever seen on any television show. After doing it, (calling it making love would be a laugh, so I won't), Morgan found them. Morgan had a brain and knew what they did. Seeing Morgan be aware thrilled me as he would know what his lover would look like after having nasty sex. He felt betrayed by both Ava and Sonny. Both of Sonny's sons now have serious issues with him. It will be a wonder when he'll have to pay for what he has done.

So those were the highlights from AJ's service, yes a poem was read, we saw a casket and Liz was able to come, but it was more about pushing ahead stories that came out due to his death. I just hope that we don't end up with Ava becoming pregnant and another who's the daddy plot after the romp in the mausoleum.
