B&B: The Mystery Couple Reveal

"The Bold and the Beautiful" showed a shocking new couple on the Friday, April 25, 2014 episode. Below are my thoughts on this twist and includes speculation.

Now we know why Thorne (Winsor Harmon) is in Paris and not LA as he is hooking up with Taylor (Hunter Tylo) again. Of course, this doesn't change how I wish Thorne was on screen more, but I hope this causes story for more than just a few episodes during sweeps.

As it has been shown on B&B, Thorne's daughter Aly (Ashlyn Pearce) hates Taylor. The reasons for her avarice towards Taylor are well-documented. Taylor drove after drinking and killed Aly's mother Darla (Schae Harrison). That would be enough justification, but Taylor didn't admit to her crime initially. Instead she lied and was a shoulder to both Aly and Thorne. Thorne and Taylor became romantically involved until he found out what she did. Later they revisited the relationship again, but the story was dropped with a quick acknowledgement that they weren't together.

I'm surprised they are going back to this again, but it feels like B&B wanted to do this when Aly was old enough to be a real factor in the story. If anything it is very possible the story will be more about Aly, than either Taylor or Thorne. Of course, all I look for is a plot that ripples out throughout the canvas and makes sense to the histories of the characters that are involved in the story. If this airs over two or three days, I'm going to be frustrated.

I hope B&B didn't just do this as a "shock and awe" story, and that we are supposed to hate Thorne and Taylor for being involved again. While I can understand why Aly wouldn't want this for her father,  I hope it doesn't turn into Aly goes insane and is written off the show. There have been times where Aly has lost control over situations that were a lot less serious than her father dating the woman that killed her mother.
