Days: Will & Sonny Engaged

Valentine's Day meant love for Will and Sonny as they agreed to wed. As part of the press around this story, the duo played by Guy Wilson and Freddie Smith did an interview with "The Advocate" discussing Days of Our Lives.

Days allowed Will and Sonny to get engaged and be intimate on what many people see as the most romantic day of the year. They were treated like any other couple that live in Salem. A lot of times same sex couples don't get the same type of material or are written as chaste, which I find to be frustrating. Stories should be written with emotional honesty regardless of the age or sex of the actors involved in the plot. What I also appreciated was they didn't have this happened a week after Guy began in the role. The use of E.M. Forster's story of Maurice and how that was banned was effective.

Hopefully Will and Sonny's engagement isn't their last moment of happiness, before the world caves in on them due to Nick's return from the "dead". I'd like to actually see a wedding in Salem that ends with an "I do" and lasts for more than five minutes once the characters return from their honeymoon.
