This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.

Katie Cancelled
Today it broke that Katie Couric's talk show, Katie is ending at the end of the 2013-2014 season. Check on the article from deadline.com. The show, which took over General Hospital's traditional 3 pm time slot in many markets (one notable exception being Baltimore, Maryland) will last air original episodes in June.
Since Katie was a syndicated offering and not a network one, every local ABC station will be able to buy the show they would like to air in its place. The only way a soap could come in its place is if some company would think to make syndicated episodes available. This doesn't change the situation with General Hospital, though who knows some stations, may do the same as Baltimore and swap its time slot depending on what new show they start showing this September. That being said, I'm glad it lasted long enough so they did a GH50 anniversary show.
