AMC: A lot of Comings before it’s Going

This entry talks about the people who are coming back or are already back on canvas at All My Children. There is speculation along with spoilers, so read with caution, as not all my wishes will come true. This is a compilation post about all the news from the last few weeks.

So far we have Dixie (Cady McClain) being alive. While this story has just begun, we don’t know how or why the character was separated from her family. The latest news per TV Guide is that she isn’t the only one at Oak Haven we will see. Annie (Melissa Claire Egan), Marian (Jennifer Bassey) and Janet (Kate Collins) will also be there. We know nothing else so far. I just hope that they make a deal for David Canary (Adam and the deceased Stuart) and Julia Barr (Brooke) also come back as part of this plot. Marian was Stuart’s wife and lost her mind due to his death. With Dixie back, it fits in with the old school quadrangle of Tad, Dixie, Brooke and Adam.

The recently deceased Zach Slater (Thorsten Kaye) is also said to be returning. Hopefully he will be alive and not be a ghost. If he is alive will it be to reunite with his beloved Kendall or will it be a triangle with her new “friend” and potential love interest Griffin? Since Zach has been dead such a short time, many hope for the reunion as Griffin and Kendall have barely begun.

Another actor who plays a dead character is coming back too, and well it is a shocker. Josh Duhamel is back as Leo. For me, Greenlee’s soul mate is Leo. While it is assumed Leo won’t be alive, there was never a body when the character went over a cliff. I think it is great, that he is back though I want Greenlee and Leo back together, happy and alive. And I want Greenlee’s current love interest Ryan to get his late former wife Gillian. Of course, I can’t see this happening, except in my dreams.

Eva LaRue (Maria) whose character isn’t dead is also back for a few shows. She’s been busy with primetime, currently CSI: Miami, since she left AMC. Since there are no Santos characters on the show right now, I wonder whom she will interact with in Pine Valley. Maybe since she is a doctor, they will use that angle. According to SOD today via Pine Valley Bulletin, Leven Rambin (Lily) will be back as well. As Jack’s adoptive daughter, she should be interacting with her family.

The only other rumored returns that are still up in the air are Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (Mateo). It was mentioned on Live with Regis and Kelly, but it depends on schedules. They returned for a guest visit for the 40th anniversary show, so hopefully something will be worked out for the real life couple.

While I am not looking forward to the last episodes of All My Children, I appreciate that the show is making the effort to bring back old favorites. Perhaps the list of returning characters and actors will increase as AMC is filming through August. I hope at least a return or two will be of interest to every viewer.
