Days: Double Weddings

On Monday, April 15, 2019, "Days of Our Lives" aired two weddings, below are my thoughts.

Tripp and Haley wed at the loft apartment, while Eve and Jack had a ceremony at the Horton Square. Neither couple married for love, but both couples were tied together by circumstances.

Tripp and Haley agreed to marry to keep her from being deported back to China. Eve and Jack had a press conference about Tripp and Haley being a fake couple, the recording was destroyed/disappeared/erased, so Eve came up with the bright idea that they would marry.

Tripp and Haley were married by Justin, JJ was the best man, and Kayla was in attendance, as well as an ICE agent and a resentful Claire. JJ and Haley admitted their feelings, and kissed, and Haley spoke about the Chinese tradition of double happiness before the ICE agent arrived. Claire came in during the event, and nearly caused it to stop. Claire didn't realize that by admitting the marriage was fake, Tripp would go to prison, before this point, so she kept quiet for now.

Eve and Jack's wedding was nearly stopped more than once. Eric kept Eve away from Jack, lying that he had information for her to help the election. Jennifer made believe she was a firefighter, and took Jack into a storage room. She shared a tidbit about how Jack did that for her years earlier when she nearly married another man (Emilio). Clips of that story were shown. Eventually Jennifer let him go, and he joined Eve. Adrienne then told Eve and Jack she could marry them. Her license to perform the ceremony expired, so it wouldn't been valid. It turned into an angry messy mob, who were upset with Adrienne's behavior. A pastor of a local church agreed to perform the ceremony and they got married.

I wonder how much longevity either of these marriages will have. Tripp and Haley need to stay together at least six months due to her status, which puts us until October. When will the mayor be elected in Salem, November? So with that time frame, it will be a long time before anyone will have a new partner.
