Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) was back for much of March, but the character departed General Hospital again, below are my thoughts.
Dante was working for the WSB and then went rogue to destroy the man (Raj) who tried to kill his wife Lulu (Emme Rylan). Dante was in Turkey, and Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Robert (Tristan Rogers) came and rescued him. Sonny was shot in the process though it wasn't serious.
Dante returned to Port Charles, and surprised Lulu, she thought he was an attacker. Dante and Lulu were both damaged (him from his time away) and her from Ryan's attack. They were intimate, and they had a welcome home party for most of the family. Dante realized he had been programmed, and was worried that the brainwashing would hurt Lulu. He asked Anna (Finola Hughes) for help, and the WSB could provide him specialized care.
Dante decided to leave and Lulu was devastated. Dante told Lulu it was over, and may never be right again between them. Lulu thought the doctors could help him and it was just PTSD, but it was clearly more than that. Lulu decided she also needed a change of scenery, and went to Laura's home in France, taking Rocco, but leaving Charlotte with her father, with Laura taking over Lulu's visitation time.
This was a sad way to "end" Dante and Lulu. When it comes to soaps, it is never say never, but since Emme Rylan did renew her contract, it seems like Lulu will eventually find love with someone else.
