Last week on Days of Our Lives, Kim and Shane (Patsy Pease and Charles Shaughnessy) returned to Salem as their daughter Jeannie Theresa (Jen Lilley) needed an intervention after she ODed. Here are my thoughts on what happened in those three episodes.
The Brady family assembled at the Brady Pub to help Theresa due to her drug usage. Shane took his daughter outside and gave her tough love. He admits that he should have been there more, but that it wasn't an excuse for her behavior as she was now an adult. Roman (Josh Taylor), Caroline (Peggy McKay), Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) were all there as well.
Shane and Kim went to see Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), but JJ (Casey Moss) was there instead. Kayla explains how Theresa will lose her job at the hospital. If that happens and the court finds out she OD'ed she'll be in trouble with the law. JJ will also get into trouble if it is discovered that he was there.
Jennifer arrives and Theresa has to make amends. Kim and Shane come to the decision that her actions were sincere and let her stay in Salem. They get into an argument with Theresa, and she storms out of the Brady Pub. Shane admits his regrets for not being more of a support to Kim over the years. Kim and Theresa bond, and we learn that things started to get strained once Theresa started liking boys. If one knows Kim's history this is completely understandable.
Thankfully Days gave Shane and Kim some alone time. They flirted and confirmed how much they love one another. After that they said goodbye to Theresa and Caroline.
It was a cool to see Shane and Kim again. Considering their daughter is in Salem, I hope they visit again when needed in the story. They were a big part of Days back when I first watched the show, so seeing them brought back opened some happy memories. I'm glad that they rewrote their original departures and allowed them to reunite.
