Y&R: Avery and Nick's Aborted Wedding

Avery (Jessica Collins) and Nick (Josh Morrow) planned to marry at the new Chancellor Park on "The Young and the Restless". At the last minute, Avery called Nick to tell him, she would be late, but the wedding was cancelled.

Avery's feelings for her ex-boyfriend Dylan (Steve Burton) kept her from the ceremony. He was upset over the news that he wasn't the father of Chelsea's (Melissa Claire Egan) son Connor. Avery and Dylan lost a child as she miscarried, so out of everyone she could understand his pain. Instead of blowing him off, she talked to him. He didn't realize that she was going to get married until he saw her wedding dress.

Nick and the guests were at the park as the pastor and the musicians all had to leave. Eventually he sent their family and friends away as he couldn't deal with them watching him wait for Avery. His ex-wife Sharon (Sharon Case) was thrilled though she tried to hide it. Their daughter Faith was against the marriage and hated Avery. Only by bribery did she agree to attend, and this situation made her happy. Nick also got comfort from Summer (Hunter King), which was a positive change for him as she is still dealing with her hurt from his lies. Summer only came to support her Aunt Avery, and they had some nice moments before Summer left to go to the venue. Billy (Billy Miller) and Victoria (Amelia Henlie) had a "renewal" of vows before the non-wedding. Victoria set up the park, but didn't clean it up as her mother Nicki (Melody Thomas Scott) stayed to comfort Nick.

It looks like Nick and Avery are finished for now as Avery continues to be attached to Dylan. Nick may be moved closer to his former wife Sharon, but since she is lying to him and causing pain for everyone in regards to Summer, I can't see them lasting in the long term.
