GL: Late Spring and Summer 2008

Autumn began on September 22nd. So what happened in Springfield for the last few months, when the summer heat burned through town.

Hawk tried unsuccessfully to convince Reva and Josh to reunite. He sold Reva's story to a production company to make a movie about his daughter's romantic relationship with Josh. Josh and Cassie decided to divorce. Whatever they felt was not enough, and Josh couldn't get pass her one-night-stand. Cassie ran into Cyrus one afternoon and banged him in a garage. Lies were told about whom she had sex with, and Josh ended up being someone up who had done nothing with Cassie. The guy that Cassie said she slept with was gay, so he didn't actually sleep with Cassie. Josh did find out about Cassie and Cyrus, and on the day of the verdict at Grady's trial for running over Tammy, Josh and Cassie signed divorce papers. Cassie and Cyrus are friends now even after what happened between them. Cyrus is using Cassie by hiding hot items on her property. Josh made another play for Reva, but she wasn't having any of it. Yes, there is nostalgia and history with Josh, but Jeffrey makes her happy. Reva also dealt with the possibility that her cancer had returned.

On the day of the wedding, Josh with Billy's help thought about kidnapping Reva. Josh and Jeffrey had a fist fight that day as well. Reva mentioned her health situation and Josh let them be, though the news was also shared with Billy. Reva and Jeffrey's marriage ceremony didn't go off without a hitch. The food was ruined, the original location was unavailable, and the justice of the peace was too. They did wed, but in a field with their reception meal being from a wiener wagon. They did have good news though, Reva's cancer hadn't returned, instead she was three months pregnant. They both weren't sure if they wanted to have a child, due to Reva's health issues. Was it worth risking Reva's life to have a baby? They decided to take a chance and have the child together.

Josh went to Afghanistan to visit Shayne, who was missing for a short time. Josh isn't sure if he will continue as a pastor and is on a leave of absence. Reva was horrified about her son being lost in a war zone. Thankfully, he was found before Reva went on a plane and jeopardized her pregnancy.

Ava and Bill got married even though Ava had feelings for Remy and Bill cared about Lizzie. Ava and the baby tied into Bill’s plans to become governor. Everything that happened next made him no longer look like a good candidate, so he stay ed in the corporate sector. Pictures of Bill and Lizzie were leaked before the wedding, and Before it happened, Bill found out the child that Ava was carrying wasn't biologically his and was created by a sperm donation. Jeffrey had leaked the news to Lizzie for Ava's sake, and hoped this would be enough to stop the wedding. When the baby w as born, it was revealed the sperm donor was Remy and it wasn't in vitro that made Ava pregnant. Ava suffered from postpartum depression as Jeffrey took his daughter to a clinic for treatment. Bill and Remy fought over who would take care of the child. Bill didn't care about genetics as he loved his son, and Remy wanted to be a better person for both Ava and the baby. Bill wanted to keep Remy out of the baby's life, but Dinah tried to help Remy. This angered Bill as Dinah chose her friend over her brother. Vanessa and Billy stood by Bill, while Mel and Clayton tried to help Remy. Sadly Max passed away before he could come home from the hospital.

Lizzie and Bill, and Bill and Lizzie were going back and forth with their relationship. They are dating, they aren't dating, he owns Spaulding and calls it Maximus, and she gets half of Spaulding back and wants to call it Spaulding/Lewis. Lizzie got half of the company back due to her=2 0actions in New York City. Alan had a business meeting that he wasn't well enough to take. Lizzie went in his place, and they decided to back the Spaulding family. A press conference was held announcing this deal. Bill does something genuine and sweet, and Lizzie is happy. Then Lizzie or Bill does something to hurt the other and they=2 0are back to square one. Now Lizzie and Bill are sharing the mansion, while fighting for control of Spaulding.

Dinah who took Spaulding and gave it to Bill as her revenge on Alan isn't too happy these days. She hasn't gotten Mallet back, and now Bill is ignoring and disrespecting her. Dinah teamed up with Alan and Alex giving them information to show Bill who was in charge. Between this and Dinah helping Remy, Bill was fed up with his sister. Bill threw her out of the mansion, and stopped her credit cards. Dinah looking for someone to get back at Bill chose Grady's special skills. She had sex with Grady and later that day wearing a ski mask he attacked Bill.

Olivia dealt with getting Gus's heart, and her daughter Ava's problems. She wasn't paying as much attention to her health as she should have, and Rick tried to convince her that it was important to live. In September, she paid Grady to sleep with her, but thankfully that didn't happen. Mr. Decker offered Olivia a job to be a face of his hotel chain. She was contemplating that new opportunity.

Mallet and Marina are dating even with the past history of Mallet being Harley's former husband. At least Frank and Buzz like Mallet, which is a change from some of the other men she has dated. They enjoy bantering with each other and making love. Since Mallet is now just a beat cop and Marina is a detective, there was a little stress. Mallet knew that Rafe was back in town and didn't tell Marina. Natalia was going to give her son Rafe up, but he figured it out, so Mallet didn't get him. Daisy hid Rafe temporarily, but Grady found out and called the cops pretending to be a concerned citizen. Daisy wasn't held by gunpoint, but it didn't help his standing with the law. Now Rafe is in state prison awaiting trial. Frank tried to help Natalia out, but since he is no longer Springfield's Chief of Police, there was nothing he could do. Frank likes Natalia, Natalia seemingly likes Frank, but has a lot going on in her life, since Rafe shot Jeffrey. Natalia is in a place where a relationship seems out of the question. She has to spend all of her time making money for Rafe's defense fund.

Daisy got back together with Grady. She slept with the hit man numerous times. The first time they were together, Daisy said that she was glad they waited. Daisy hid Grady from the authorities, which upset everyone. Grady went on trial for his part in Tammy's death. He was found not guilty, as Daisy lied on the stand to protect him. Grady and Daisy broke up because Grady called the police on Rafe.

Rick lost Beth to Alan yet again. On July 4th, they talked and it was over, Rick was too depressed to deal with the BBQ. Josh and Cassie held the event. It was one of the last happy moments in their marriage. There was a slide and a bouncing house. Lillian and Buzz who are still going strong had some afternoon delight during the party. There was awkwardness at the BBQ as no one wanted to do the traditional speech.

Beth moved back herself and baby Peyton in with Alan. They had been staying at Harley's house, but now it is for sale. Beth has decided to become an attorney, Alan doesn't love the idea, but that's=2 0life. Lizzie thought about turning Alan in for his part in Tammy's death. When he became ill, she changed her mind.

Alan fell and bumped his head. He had visions of Gus and developed a following of women who wanted to hear messages from the great beyond. Alan's behavior became more erratic, and eventually he had surgery to cure the blood clot.

Coop wrote a novel, Blake became his agent and Ashlee felt left out. Ashlee's lapband surgery while making her outwardly thinner didn't solve all of her problems. She grew apart from Coop and flirted with Grady. Ashlee didn't know Grady was actually "G" the guy who ran over Tammy. This strained Ashlee and Daisy's friendship, as Ashlee felt that Grady really liked her. Grady though knew that Ashlee was Doris's daughter, and perhaps that would help him from a legal standpoint.

Meanwhile, Coop and Blake spent a lot of time together. Blake made herself available sexually to Coop, but he wasn't biting. There was a misunderstanding and Blake thought Coop was interested due to his use of the phrase “make yourself comfortable.” Ashlee walked in on them, and Blake fled. Ashlee ended it with Coop, because it just wasn't working for her anymore. After the fact, Blake apologized to Ashlee for her part in the broken relationship. Ashlee started a blog that became popular with Emma and her friends. She continued to work at WSPR, though missed spending time with the Cooper clan. Coop went back to teaching and ended up being the instructor for a tween summer enrichment class about Shakespearean sonnets that Blake's daughter Clarissa who seemed wise beyond her years was going to take. He also went out on a "date" with his brother Frank and Rick. (If Rick thought it was a date...it was...) Blake continued to mourn her deceased husband Ross, hang with Cassie and work in real estate.

Harley left town to protect Rafe, who had just shot Jeffrey. The duo ended up in Greece. While on the run, Harley kept in contact with her family. On one of these calls, Harley was able to speak with her best friend Cassie. Cassie shared the news that the man she cheated on Josh with was none other than Harley's boyfriend Cyrus. Harley was angry and said that their friendship was finished. Cassie was angry with Cyrus for being Grady's brother and hiding him from the authorities. Unlike Rafe, who returned to town, Harley decided to stay having found a new job and life in Greece. Her two youngest boys came to live with her.
