On the Friday October 26, 2018, (US airing) of "The Young and the Restless" Lily (Christel Khalil) was sent to a prison four hours away from Genoa City. Below are my thoughts on this development.
It was known that Christel was no longer going to be on contract with Y&R, so having Lily further away from her family gave Cane, Mattie, and Charlie, a good reason not to see her. You can't go after school or work if it is so far away, without missing a portion of the day. Devon visited her, as well, finally, but even with his anger over Lily's driving causing the death of his wife and unborn child, he wasn't happy about this situation. While in prison, Lily was visited by both Traci (her late best friend's mother) and Jill, but we only saw her with Neil on the day of her departure for the other prison.
Honestly I wish they had shown Lily becoming close to the other inmate, and then having to deal with threats. Being told what happened isn't a satisfying story. In a way, I almost wonder why they didn't have her be located at a prison four hours away at the start of the story, instead of doing it this way. Where they trying to wean the viewers, I wonder.
