AMC Halloween Parody on Live with Kelly and Ryan

Halloween was the day that we had the triumphant return of "All My Children", well it was a parody promo about All My Children, but hey it was something on "Live with Kelly and Ryan". Below are my thoughts and a link.

So the Live Parody promo, aired on its annual Halloween show along with other "rebooots".

It started with a comment about the return of Hayley (Kelly Ripa) and Mateo (Mark Consuelos) as the couple they played when they started dating. Hayley was now bad as she went back to the black wig, she wore when she first started on AMC. The wig wasn't accurate as at times due to the 90s, it was crimped. There was a reference to Mateo cheating with Hayley's mother, twice, which reminded me of how Hayley had to deal with that with Alec. Eventually Mateo was recast with Andy Cohen.

Susan Lucci came back as Erica, Sarah Michelle Gellar provided video, but wasn't at the studio at the same time as the others as Kendall. Ryan Seacrest played Jackson, and Art Moore (from the local WABC station, who has appeared on occasion on Live since prior to Kelly being a host), played a new character, tied to someone we know and love. Eva LaRue played Maria, who as a joke was now more than just a doctor, but also a detective, as to most she is known for her role in the CSI universe.

The parody had a lot of words in graphics like how shocking certain things are, though predictable. Having Mateo mention many past famous AMC couples, and then Erica react negatively towards Brooke being mentioned by name was funny. My favorite part was the end, where they used the yellow AMC opening, and you could see the Agnes Nixon poem. It was amusing that we saw both Mateo's in this, along with the rest of the cast of characters, but poignant to see the poem.

I think depending on how someone would take this, they may love it or hate it. I enjoyed it, but I think if it had been within a year of AMC's ending, I would have been upset, but now I can look back with a lot less sadness.
