Days: Sami's Revenge

This past week, Sami (Ali Sweeney) got her revenge on her new husband EJ (James Scott) and the woman he had an affair with during their engagement Abigail (Kate Mansi). Below are my thoughts on these developments.

Sami went ahead and married EJ allowing him to believe that she was in it for the long haul. Instead, she was planning his downfall. Anonymously, Sami gave information to the police leading to his arrest. Unfortunately for her, everything fell into place after the ceremony. This wasn't a big wedding though the kids were there. Of course, once people saw the limited guest list, they should have known that Sami was up to something. A guilty Abby helped Sami plan the event and even acted as maid of honor. Of course, this choice of attendant was sadistic, but I appreciated that. It isn't as if Sami has an actual best friend to ask, and neither of her sisters live in Salem. Abe (James Reynolds) married them, which I bet the Sabe fans appreciated. (Yes there is even a smush name for Abe and Sami a couple that Days seemingly would never dare to contemplate.) During the event, Sami recalled EJ and Abby kissing. I liked that bit, because something like that should be burned on Sami's retinas.

After the ceremony, Lucas took the children out so they missed EJ getting arrested. Of course, it was unfortunate that Lucas couldn't enjoy seeing EJ get arrested as he would have enjoyed snarking about that turn of events. Sami continued to plot against EJ while away. She was able to take all the evidence out of the safe against herself, Kate and Will. Intentionally, Sami left out the passports making it seem like EJ planned to leave the country. Then with Kate's help, they took over Dimera Enterprises. Stefano was out of Salem, and not at the meeting. Sami got the top job for six months and planned to tank the company just because she could. EJ would pay with his wallet for his libido.

Once EJ was tucked away in a cell and Dimera Enterprises was settled, Sami's plan for Abigail was underway. She treated Abby like an afterthought, which was appropriate as Abby was cruel to her. Sami helped Abby with her pregnancy scare, and if Abby had been pregnant EJ would have been the sperm donor. Abby is supposed to be "good", but what nice girl does that? Sami showed the photos of Abby and EJ, while chatting with Abby and her mother Jennifer. Jennifer thought that the photos had to be doctored or EJ forced Abby, but neither was the case. Considering how Abby lied and tried to get Austin to sleep with her, why would Jennifer think that Abby was some innocent? Of course, compared to most people in Salem, Abby's behavior is very benign. She just gets horny and wants to sleep with men who are in committed relationships.

I've liked this story so far, because Sami isn't being written as a clueless clod. She exacted a revenge and feels no remorse. In this story, I feel sorry for the kids involved as even if their father can't keep his pants zipped, they shouldn't lose their father or their inheritance. I also feel for the people who work for Dimera Enterprises that aren't doing illegal things who could get screwed while Sami and Kate intentionally hurt the company. What I also wonder is if Sami's actions of taking EJ's blackmail material, will finally allow Will to live his life in peace. Hopefully, all of this will be resolved in a satisfactory manner once the last episodes with Scott and Sweeney air later in 2014.
