B&B: Brooke's brokenhearted as Ridge & Katie find each other

On "The Bold and the Beautiful", Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) went on a bender after finding out that her sister Katie (Heather Tom) and former husband Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) are in love. She was informed before Katie and Ridge consummated their relationship. Below are my thoughts on the story so far.

Brooke, being Brooke, usually has more than one man that is interested in her at any time. Unfortunately for her, the man she wants Ridge isn't interested, and the man who wants her Bill (Don Diamont) is who she doesn't want. This is the first time in years, that she wasn't someone's first choice. It isn't as if Ridge chose Taylor (Hunter Tylo) over Brooke again, as that would be true to form. The fact it was Katie is what makes this situation very new. While Katie has stole a man from another Logan (Nick from Bridget), this is the first time, she battled Brooke for a man.

While Ridge and Katie were having sex or in their minds' making love, Brooke was having a breakdown. She was drinking and wishing that Stephanie (Susan Flannery) was alive. I appreciated how Brooke in her emotional breakdown would want Stephanie's comfort. Of course, there would be a conflict of interest as Stephanie is Ridge's mother. That being said, Brooke was sober or perhaps drunk enough to realize that Stephanie may have liked the idea of Ridge and Katie. Due to how they gave Katherine Kelly Lang monologues, I wonder if she will consider the March 19, 2014 episode for a future Emmy reel as it would be appropriate.

Hopefully during Brooke's downward spiral, we see her on canvas adult children: Rick (Jacob Young) and Hope (Kim Matula). Rick has various issues with Ridge, so he will side with their mother. Hope knew what was going on between Katie and Ridge, so one has to wonder how Brook will react to that. At this point, I'm not rooting for Ridge with either lady, so it depends on how the story goes as to what I'd like to see a few months down the road.
