AMC: Tad the Cad is Now Damon's Dad

All My Children wrote in an encounter between Tad and his former love Hillary. This one stolen moment created a child that she raised with her husband. Now Damon is in Pine Valley getting into trouble and causing problems for himself and those around him.

Tad sleeping with someone, getting her pregnant and not being told is not impossible. Since we haven't seen Hillary's point of view, we have no idea of what reasons she had for keeping this child a secret. Tad now has four children with different mothers, Jamie with Brooke, Damon with Hillary, Kathy with Dixie and Jenny with Krystal.

Is Tad trying to compete with Adam Chandler in this regard, I'm really not sure. If he did we must hope that Liza, Marian or any of Tad's other former lovers had a secret child with him. Hey they still could mine the Ted Orsini time frame for some missing child. I'm joking as I really don't want to see that, but I wonder the reasoning behind it. Tad isn't some wealthy man whose family can fight over a corporation or inheritance. Having kids related to the Martin family part of All My Children's core, though is understandable. Jake's only contribution is Trevor as Colby isn't his child. Yes I know that Tad is not biologically a Martin, but he functions in that way. Other than Opal being his biological mother and Jenny being named after his deceased sister, his Gardner blood has been ignored since his never before mentioned uncle caused terror at Jesse and Angie's wedding. And please AMC don't age little Jenny, bring back Greg and have them fall in love. If that happens, and they brought back Larry Lau as Greg and aged Jenny to about 30 with the rest of the kids appropriately aged it may be slightly bizarre, but at least a bit less disgusting as Tad’s deceased sister Jenny was the love of his life.

So far what Damon has done are minor crimes: driving while texting, hitting people and break-ins. He was in a band, and had groupies, but the music went nowhere. He doesn’t have a high school diploma, and perhaps doesn’t have the skills to compete in the working world. That’s why he didn’t take the intern work at Fusion. It is doubtful he wants to be a janitor all of his life, though he was great with a troubled boy. Damon also seems to get along very well with his younger sisters Kathy and Jenny. Damon though has a reason to straighten up his former girlfriend Bailey has moved back to Ohio with their son Stuart. Bailey won’t allow Damon in their lives due to his sins.

I'm amazed they haven't turned Damon into a young Ray Gardner, but who knows that may be the next once he finds out Tad is his father. The questions remain about how Tad will deal with a son that is way too much like he was as a young man. Also how will Damon deal with this news? Will we ever see Damon’s mother and stepfather who raised him and find out their point of view? Will Damon straighten out his life? Will he be a cad like his Dad once was, but the mother/daughter duo he sleeps with his Liza and Colby (instead of Marian/Liza)? These are all things I’m curious and hope to find out answers to in the upcoming months.
