2010 Year in Review

Here are my short summaries about soaps in 2010. They are all between 90 and 100 words. Last year, I did a halfway mark write up, so this will focus on the second half of the year. I still haven’t watched the last episodes of As the World Turns, but I can write about what happened though not comment about the positives and negatives of these plots.

All My Children: David faked his death, but returned so Greenlee didn’t have to go to prison. He was shot, and is comatose. Ryan and Greenlee are back together, though Madison is pregnant with his child. Kendall was devastated after Zach was lost in a plane crash. Angie has support from her friends and family to deal with her blindness. Colby started developing feelings for Caleb’s son Asher. Bianca returned to Pine Valley. JR and Annie became involved again as Scott went to prison. Jake has to deal with new colleagues, his former wife Cara and her brother Griffin.

As the World Turns: Our last visit to Oakdale was in September. Jack and Carly remarried. Lily and Holden may be back on their way to reconciliation. Lucinda even found some companionship and love, as John Dixon returned to town. Chris needed a new heart, and received Reid’s as he died in a car accident, which broke Luke’s heart. Katie moved on with Chris though she would never forget the love she shared with her late husband Brad. Henry and Barbara got married after surviving the machinations by Vienna and later Iris who kidnapped her. Bob retired from the hospital.

Bold and the Beautiful: Stephanie faced lung cancer head on, but it is uncertain if the will survive. She is spending her time giving back to those on skid row. Brooke and Stephanie buried the hatchet and are finally acting as friends. Even though Oliver and Brooke had sex, Ridge and Brooke’s relationship survive. Brooke and Thomas had a runway kiss to promote taboo. And Whip sent a picture of them barely dressed to the tabloids upsetting everyone. Amber has returned to LA, and “slept” with Liam, though it was only sleep, as she is pregnant with Oliver’s baby.

Days of Our Lives: Sami and Rafe were married, after Sami shot EJ in the head. EJ got custody of Johnny and Sydney. It was discovered that Johnny had cancer in his eye. Nicole broke up with Brady to marry EJ to be a stepmother to his kids. Everyone found out that Philip and Chloe had sex and he fathered Parker. Caroline had a stroke. Victor admitted his love for Maggie. Bo ended things with Carly and broke Hope out of prison to save her life. Stefano and Kate are estranged, while Chad wants nothing to do with his biological father.

General Hospital: Brenda has returned to Port Charles and is now engaged to Sonny again. Michael has made a new friend in Abby an older woman who happens to be a stripper. Carly wants the relationship to end, but finally she and Jax are on firmer ground. Robin nearly lost her life, as the brownstone she grew up in burned to the ground. Lisa isn’t happy that Patrick still wants Robin back even if he had sex with her. Maya and Ethan are newlyweds as are Tracy and Luke. Maxie and Matt are dating, though Spinelli still loves her.

One Life to Live: Eli was killed by Cole, and Cole is in prison. Greg is also in prison, though not before revealing that he is Destiny’s biological father. Echo came back and revealed that Rex is her child. Clint knew Rex was his, but wants everyone to believe that Charlie is his father. Bobby Ford and Langston aren’t having sex, neither are James and Starr or Dani and Nate for various reasons. Clint paid Eddie Ford to kidnap Nora, to give Inez the time to sleep with Bo. This backfired as Eddie is dead, and Nora was nearly raped.

Young and the Restless: Chloe and Kevin admitted that they are in love and kissed on New Year’s Eve. Michael and Jill were there for Lauren as her kidnapper Daisy returned to Genoa City. Daisy went missing while in labor with Daniel’s child. Ronan is dying from a liver ailment, and needs a transplant. Sharon decided to stand by Adam, which hurt her relationship with Nick and Noah. Diane slept with both Tucker and Nicholas. Nikki battled the bottle and Victor. Murphy and Kay survived their health scares. Abby and Victoria are still battling with Victor over their trust fund money.

I really don't like how things ended up with Bo and Carly. No words were actually said so everything was left up in the air about that. Even though I've watched Days for years I am so over Bo and Hope as a couple.
