Days: Will & Sonny Wed - Caroline is Dead

This past week on "Days of Our Lives" Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith) wed, while Caroline (Peggy McCay) died. Below are my thoughts.

Will's health was in trouble due to taking a drug to fix his lost memory. Will felt like he wouldn't make it, and Lucas and Sami came home to see him. They arrived after Will and Sonny got married again in Will's hospital room. Marlena performed the ceremony, and the only people attending were Gabi, Kate, Roman, and Ari. Dr. Rolf's serum was bad, and there was a search for the diary. Eve had it, but Xander ended up with it, and wanted to use it for leverage. He decided to give it to the medical staff, because of his feelings for Sarah. Rex having worked for Dr. Rolf was able to come up with an antidote. Will had a near death experience, and ran into his great-grandmother Caroline in a dreamscape of the Brady Pub. Roman then got a phone call from Kimberly that their mother had passed in her sleep.

On the Thursday episode, the characters had a wake for Caroline at the Brady Pub. It was mainly Caroline's direct family, (children, grandchildren, great grandchildren). Hope was there, but left to see Victor, and they both thought of their loss of first Bo and now Caroline. Roman and Kayla were the only of Caroline's kids there, as Kim had recent surgery and couldn't fly from California. Carrie came from Europe for the wake, and Sami was there for her grandmother's event, as was Eric. John and Marlena were there, and John spoke about how Caroline said that he was still her son even though he wasn't actually Roman (long story). Abe was there, as Caroline loved him since he was cop partners with Roman. Shawn was there, along with Claire and Ciara, who weren't fighting for a change.

The spoilers made it sound like there would be a lot more flashbacks of the late Peggy McCay, but it seems like they were cut for time. Ron Carvalati shared that news today on twitter. That was disappointing, as on an episode with a wake it is appropriate to see older scenes.
