Days: The Eileen Davidson News

This week it was finally made official that Eileen Davidson will be back on Days of Our Lives. Her first air date is October 11. The Hollywood Reporter was the publication that broke the news with a quote from Eileen herself, though it had been leaked by insiders much earlier.

First off, I'm happy for all the people who campaigned for her to return as Kristen, Susan et al on Days of Our Lives. I'll miss her on The Young and the Restless as Ashley, but we still haven't heard how she's departing that program. Since Y&R is not three months ahead in taping like Days, we may only see Ashley for a few more weeks.

Since October is three months away, no one has any information regarding the story. Days taping so far in advance is a problem in such a situation as who wants to wait three months. Eileen's original stint on Days was from 1993-1998, and during that time Susan's "Mean Mean Mean" became a catchphrase within Days and among soap viewers.

Hopefully this helps Days of Our Lives stay on the air a bit longer. Regardless news like this gets people talking and Days needs as much interest as it can muster of the positive sort. It has been a long time, since Days had some good news, but I'll take it. My wish is that Eileen is successful in playing the roles again and people aren't disappointed by her return story.
