This week spelled the end for General Hospital’s Lisa Niles (Brianna Brown) as the character went into a coma after she was injected with drain cleaner.
Lisa came to General Hospital as a successful doctor, who eventually became obsessed with her former boyfriend Patrick Drake. She set out to get him back and did everything she could. Eventually while Patrick’s wife was out of town, Lisa got him into bed. She thought that would get Patrick to leave Robin or else Robin would leave Patrick.
Lisa was involved with kidnapping, drugs and tried to another male doctor named Terrell to seduce Robin. Years earlier Terrell and Lisa had dated. Taking little Emma without permission to get ice cream, putting Robin in a hole, giving drugs to Kristina to get into Patrick and Robin’s house were some of her bad actions. For a time, Johnny helped Lisa, as he liked her. Also Johnny had some ammunition to keep her quiet and used her for medical help. He had a syringe that she nearly used on Robin. There even was a scavenger hunt for the item, but Lisa got it. She also reminded him of his late sister Claudia who had emotional problems. When Johnny realized, she wasn’t over Patrick and just using him, he turned his back as well. She went too far when she rigged the heater in Robin, Patrick and Emma’s home. That action sent her to Shadybrook and she lost her medical license.
Dr. Niles got away from Shadybrook with the help of Johnny’s father Anthony, who wasn’t the most stable person. He was able to get her the outfit and weapon to break into General Hospital. After Johnny found out he was upset, but couldn’t do anything to fix it.
When she arrived in the hospital, Lisa was ready for battle and shot the gun. All of her enemies were one place and they were locked down. Maxie, Robin, Patrick, and Steve became her hostages. Lucky and Spinelli were also on the floor, but she let them go, as they had nothing to do with her plans. Her big plan was to put the people who hurt her on trial.
Since Lucky is a cop and Spinelli is a computer guy, they tried to figure out a way to get the authorities into the hospital. Outside the cops and mob enforcer Jason Morgan wanted to get in to save everyone. Jason’s love, Sam was a patient in the hospital. Once finding out it was Lisa, Mac had to deal with the possibility he would lose both his niece Robin and his daughter Maxie.
Spinelli decided to take matters into his own hands and found out where the air vents went through the hospital. He used the system to get into the conference room from above. Lisa got so angry with Maxie that she attempted to shoot her. Maxie had been baiting Lisa, as she recognized Lisa before she took actions to get Patrick back into bed. Spinelli took the bullet meant for his former fiancé after falling into the room. As he was bleeding, Lisa wouldn’t help him or allow the other doctors to help as Spinelli was bleeding to death. Instead she continued criticizing all of them. Steve admitted she was a capable doctor who threw away her life. Lisa went off on Patrick and Robin as a couple and individuals. Jason and Dante broke in after the lockdown was over, as the computer password was the deceased Jake’s birthday. In the scuffle, Patrick got a flesh wound as Lisa’s gun went off, and Spinelli got medical attention from Matt. Lisa made one final attempt after being tackled by Dante. Only Patrick and Robin were present, and she held Robin with a syringe filled with drain cleaner. Patrick tried to get her to let Robin go, they fought and Lisa ended up injecting herself with the poison.
Now that Lisa’s in a coma, perhaps Robin and Patrick will finally get some peace in their marriage. They won’t have to fear that Lisa is out to get them or their daughter. Of course, they need to continue to work together ot keep their relationship strong. Spinelli had surgery, and is deemed well, but believes he is his alter ego Jackal PI. Maxie was surprised that Spinelli would risk his life for her, and sees him as a hero. Perhaps this will mark a new beginning for Spixie and she will leave Matt. While Lisa may not be a factor, her actions may continue to effect those who were in the hospital that day for the next few weeks.
