This week, Oscar (Garren Stitt) succumbed to the cancerous tumor in his brain. Below are my thoughts about the story on "General Hospital".
Oscar was getting weaker, and the audience knew he was going to pass. He moved into the Q mansion for palliative care along with his mother Kim. His girlfriend Joss was at his side, and she was reading him "The Wind in the Willows". She fell asleep and Oscar dreamed of a future that didn't happen. He saw his great-grandparents, who followed him around, and left with them when he passed. He kissed spirit kissed Joss on the cheek.
When it came to this plot, I didn't like that Oscar's parents lied about his health for so long. If he had known he maybe could have climbed mountains or at least graduated high school. I wish that we would have had more scenes with Oscar and his younger sister Scout. Having Oscar and Cameron going from enemies to actual friends, was good. Seeing Cameron acting selflessly instead of selfishly was good character development. I do wonder if Oscar's death will make things between twins Jason and Drew better. I liked what little we did have with Oscar and Monica, as she knows what it is like to lose a child, and is a cancer survivor. One of Oscar's last wishes was to perform with Joss at the ball again, though he didn't live long enough. I'm hoping that they will do something.
