Hey everyone, with lots of reflection, I have decided to move on from @YandR_CBS at the end of my contract in Dec. I've had an amazing— Steve Burton (@1SteveBurton) October 7, 2016
2/2 time, but it feels right to move on to new adventures in my life. I can't say enough about the AWESOME cast and crew. Much respect!— Steve Burton (@1SteveBurton) October 7, 2016
Steve's contract is up in December, so depending on how things go, he may be on into early next year. The character of Dylan was discovered to be Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Paul's (Doug Davidson) illegitimate child, who was conceived during the cult time frame. This was a rewrite, but one many accepted as it gave both of those actors more to do. Nikki had someone in the story who wasn't tied strongly to Victor, while Paul finally had an adult child on canvas again to interact with at the police station.3/3 Much luv to @CBSDaytime for the great ride. Great peeps. And thank YOU all for your support. Always! #positivityrules— Steve Burton (@1SteveBurton) October 7, 2016
The majority of Steve's stories as Dylan had to do with his romantic relationships, and babies that weren't biologically his. This is one loose end that needs to be handled before he departs: the lie about baby Sully, who is actually Christian.
One has to wonder how the new writing staff under Mal Young will handle the departure of Dylan. While Steve has said it was his choice to go, this write off will be a test for the new team. Will it be satisfying or frustrating to see him go? Due to Steve's real life restaurant and his twitter account, he will update everyone about what is next in his career.
