Thoughts about "The Doctors" - December 1969

Another month's worth of episodes of "The Doctors" has aired on RetroTV. Below are my thoughts on what has aired for the month of December 1969.

Simon continued to work with Maggie. Once Althea got her memory back, she wanted to return to the clinic though it is uncertain who will be in charge. Matt convinced Althea to postpone divorcing Nick or make any other major decisions until things settle.

Mr. Grant may do a publicity tour for the hospital around the country. It is uncertain how long we will continue to see him. Mike didn't have much to do this month, neither did Liz or Jody Lee.

Over Christmas, everyone celebrated. Steve went to work before stopping by Carolee's place disappointing her. Nick wasn't shown, though he was presumably unhappy due to his situation with Althea. The Powers spent the morning together before going to the hospital. Julie got the best gifts: a stereo and a puppy. That being said if Julie becomes a nursing student, when will she have time for a pet? Julie and Mike came to wish Carolee a good Christmas, as she had been alone as Liz was out of town visiting her family. Steve and Carolee spent sometime together at the hospital. There was carol singing and the like. Since Virigina Vestoff was an accomplished singer, she did a holiday solo. Matt broke the fourth wall with Christmas greetings. He mentioned how he hoped for peace.

Carolee started to get used to being in charge of the student nurses. They have demands, and she wants to help. The office is designed more to her liking. Steve and Althea's relationship, of sorts, is going on behind Carolee's back. Julie mentioned this to her. Carolee lost it and slapped Julie. The candy striper also took medicine for a patient, which is against the rules.

Those were the highlights of December 1969. Let's hope 1970 brings good things to the lives of everyone at Hope Memorial. The one thing that was fun is due to all the student nurses, we're given a hint of before they were stars with surprising cameo performances.
