Thoughts about "The Doctors" - September 1969

Another month's worth of episodes of "The Doctors" has aired on RetroTV. Below are my thoughts on what has aired for the month of September 1969.

Althea was finally discharged from the hospital. She moved back home with Nick. Eventually Althea remembered Buddy though felt disassociated as she couldn't remember her son. Her therapist left town for a month and she stopped treatment. They are both glad she's home, but the situation is awkward as their both surrounded by memories.

Carolee and Steve had yet another date. This one took place at his apartment. She thought he just wanted sex as the apartment had no food, but eventually a steakhouse delivered two meals for them to enjoy. Steve wanted to take her out again the next night, but she said no as she couldn't blow off her mother again.

Anna returned from visiting Ed. He changed so much that she is done with their relationship. Somehow since he left Hope Memorial, he became a mod. Jody Lee and Liz were barely on again though they were mentioned as still involved.

Nancy finally agreed to marry Mike and took his ring. Then she discovered her husband Paul was alive. The engagement was off, and Mike fell apart. He was rude to a patient, and later ran into Mr. Grant. Shana moved on as she released she had nothing left. Nancy and Paul reconciled as he always is her first choice. Mr. Grant's first name was discovered to be Lou, which is rather funny as "The Mary Tyler Moore" show didn't exist yet. Martha took a shining to him and thought it would be a good idea for him to work at the hospital with Anna. Lou had the kind of personality that fit well with people, but he was sketipical. Nancy and Paul decided to leave town for New York and see if he can continue writing even with his inability to see.

Julie came to town and seems to be trouble. She already graduated from high school and spends all day at the Powers' house. Maggie is trying to help the girl, but isn't sure how.

Those were the highlights of September 1969. The most surprising thing was hearing the city of Madison mentioned as in books they hadn't stated a location yet for the series.
