Hopefully the legal documents will be available in full and soon. I know that may sound "crazy", but to steal from an old television commercial "inquiring minds want to know." THR sharing how Prospect Park owes Erika Slezak (Viki) over $200,000 alone was just one interesting tidbit. Sometimes I just wonder how things like this can go on with people not being paid what they owe including the unions and their legal representatives for their case against ABC.
I want this to get settled for everyone's sake even if I do admit that bankruptcy protection can be a positive thing in certain situations. I feel for those who expected the money as I wouldn't be surprised if all the actors were owed, but only the ones who had the largest losses were listed in THR.
Is it better to have had some additional episodes of All My Children and One Life to Live or just had it wrap up on ABC? This bankruptcy question brings that to the forefront of my mind yet again. That's up to each individual person to decide whether they were a viewer or worked in the business.
It would have been better to assemble a creative team with Agnes Nixon and develop a new, well written show about people the audience could relate to. A new start for a new medium.
ReplyDeleteThis whole venture was wrong from the get-go - it was creatively wrong,it was financial wrong. It was poorly conceived.
I am glad we got to see certain actors working again, to be sure. However, the whole thing was a colossal disappointment.
The thought of several of these actors finishing their careers with this version of the show is heartbreaking.
