OLTL: Thoughts on Episodes 31 & 32

Here are my thoughts and a brief summary about episodes 31 & 32 (July 22, 2013) of One Life to Live.

Note: I number these without the "More episodes" included in the count. On Hulu, these are episodes 42 & 43.

Episode 31:

Dorian leaves a message for David after throwing his things in the foyer of her mansion.

Michelle doesn't want to leave her room with Matthew at the Palace, but she has to go back to work. They kiss again on the bed. Michelle thanks Matthew for making her first time perfect, and he agrees that it was too. Michelle takes the towels with her as they stayed clean.

Shaun is following Jack, he has the book "A Tale of Two Cities" in his hands. Kate tells him they can talk about it in class. Shaun says that he needs to ask Mr. Manning about getting rid of him as his bodyguard.

Blair and Todd are talking after their night of passion. She's wearing one of his shirts, and she says that she's afraid of losing him another time. They start disrobing again as it goes to the credits. Todd and Blair have made love on the sofa and are cuddling. They chat and start to make love again. Jack comes in to complain about Shaun. When she sees his mother Blair, he knows they were intimate and gets angry with both of them. Jack and Blair are back home, and she says that regardless of everything there is love. Todd is Blair's soulmate, and even with the bad her life is with him. Jack tells her that she needs to understand that he cannot accept their relationship.

Tea is surprised by Dani's visit. Dani tells her mom that she can lean on her due to everything that has been going on in their lives. Tea notices Dani's scarf and wonders who she is dating. Dani lies and says that she got it from Briana's family leaving Arturo's name out of it. Arturo goes to see Bo at the police station as Bo had more questions for him about Briana. We see newly created flashbacks of Arturo remembering his first meeting with Briana.

Clint is drinking scotch after spending the night at the office. Matthew came with coffee and was willing to listen. He swore not to share the information with the rest of the family. Clint was honored for man of the year and has a scheduled photo shoot. He wants to cancel, but Matthew says no. Matthew tells him to shower, shave and change before the photographer gets there. Clint tells him that there are a lot of people who would want to be with him except for the woman that he wants. Matthew tries to comfort his Uncle Clint over his broken engagement and tells him that they don't "wallow like sappy little girls." Clint comes out all dressed and smiles for the photos.

Dorian comes over to Viki about the program for the gala. Viki doesn't want to talk about her broken engagement. While Dorian says she is in the same boat, as she threw out David. Viki says she isn't broke, and that she knows that Dorian was behind the whole thing.

General thoughts about this episode:

Blair and Todd had some more sexy times, which considering how long it has been was understandable. Glad that Jack figured out what went on between his parents and wasn't clueless about the situation. Clint is a complete mess over losing Viki, at least Matthew was there looking out for him. Viki knowing all about what Dorian did is good, but I wonder if Viki can do anything with that information. Considering Jack's life "A Tale of Two Cities" is an extremely appropriate book to read due to the parallels.

Episode 32:

David is at a television studio with Leo and he feels like home. David is excited to see the actor's chair, and Jo comes in to talk to him. Jo says they are doing a reality show, so they won't be filming on a soundstage. Jo and David talk about his new show, and how they are aiming about women 18-49. Leo comes in and Jo says that David is a total narcissist. Jo tells Leo that he should stick with her to get an Emmy. She considers Dorian a firecracker and wants to follow their marriage. He says the marriage is in trouble. Jo asks if they may reconcile, he says no and she smiled. She said that she's had a concept of an anatomy of a divorce. David says he likes it.

Viki tells Natalie what happened with Clint. Natalie feels that it was wonderful how he gave her the money to cover her losses, but understood why her mother was upset once she explained it was a control issue. Viki shows Natalie her bare ring finger, and shares that she doesn't trust him. Natalie has to go meet someone for drinks and calls him a distraction. Natalie explains to Cutter how she grew up in a trailer park in Atlantic City and drank really cheap beer until she found Clint and Viki. She mentions Roxy and how she was told to live the hand you were dealt.

Matthew, Jeffrey and Michelle are having Italian takeout. Dani comes in the main room of the apartment and is offered to share dinner with them. They think she is going  for a date, but she goes to see Arturo. Jeffrey snarks about Michelle and eventually Matthew has enough so they leave.

Arturo comes into Shelter and Rama greets her. Dani meets Arturo for dinner and was glad that she kept Briana's scarf. Dani hides when she sees her mother walk into Shelter. Arturo is willing to let her go first and then leave too. Outside the club, Dani explains how her mother had a panic attack. Arturo gets Dani food at the coffee shop. He invites her to the gala as he has an extra ticket. Dani says he can say he's Briana's uncle from Italy. Arturo gives Dani a gift of her own: a pair of earrings.  She can't accept them because it is too much. He convinces her to take them and she says she'll pay for her own meal.

Blair is on a one-way conversation with Todd. Dorian passes Rama, puts her hand in the younger woman's face, and then goes to speak with her niece Blair. Dorian tells Blair to fire Rama. Cutter goes up to Dorian about Rama. He says that Rama stays as he doesn't want to deal with a lawsuit. Tea comes up to Blair and Dorian, and Dorian leaves so Blair and Tea can speak privately. The plan with Todd is a go, and they just have to wait and pray. Also, Tea introduces Dean to Dorian, he's in commercial real estate, which Blair didn't even know. Dean doesn't know what kind of man would lie to Dorian. Dean is going to the gala also. Later Todd is alone and says Victor dies tonight.

General thoughts about this episode:

Jo seems to be nearly as vapid as David, so this may be a good pairing for him. I wonder what Viki would say if she knew that Natalie's distraction was Cutter. Viki seems to be very mellow over her broken engagement. Dani and Arturo's date wasn't a "date" officially, but it seemed like one. How Dani left Shelter without getting caught was wacky, but at least she wasn't found out by Tea.
