It is not what I expected. The main family is a couple with their foster kids living in Summer Bay, which is outside the city. All of the kids are from troubled backgrounds and Tom and Pippa do what they can to help them. The kids range from their oldest who is now grown to a kid under 12. Frank was their first foster child who they got at 8 there is also Steven, Carly, Lynn, Bobby and Sally. they only got Bobby in their family after the move. sally has an imaginary friend named Milco. Their new neighbor Fischer hates the family or bad behavior and is also a teacher at the school. Steven lost his parents in a fire. Carly had a bad relationship with her living father, and her twin sister. Lynn's parents could not handle her running away and she was the youngest of seven. Bobby ended up staying in Summer Bay after her family moved away and her father was in prison, she was staying in a caravan.
Tom and Pippa have to move because they want to keep the kids after he was retrenched. He continued to have work issues. They bought a caravan park from Alf, who is still a regular character in present day. Ailsa runs the store that Pippa ends up working at part time. Neville and Floss were former carnival people who live in the caravan park. She tells fortunes and he plays the bagpipes. Martin and Lance were out of school, but were a bit clueless and lived at the caravan park. Alf has a daughter named Ruth nicknamed Roo, and one sister who is a regular character Celia who is ultra religious.
Since there are two seasons I plan to write a summary of each they are both 200 episodes. I figure there will be things that are now seen as offensive due to how the world has changed in the last 30 years.
