The sixteenth episode of "Inside Salem: Days of Our Lives" podcast
premiered on Monday on the NBC website. Below are my thoughts.
The first half of the audio was an interview by Michael Fairman with Paul Telfer (Xander), and the second was Sal Stowers (Lani) in her dressing room chatting with Lamon Archey (Eli). The clips of the week had to do with the immigration story (Claire/Tripp breaking up and Haley finding out that Melinda is her mother.)
Paul spoke about his character of Xander, and made a comment about always expecting the craziest thing as a guess of what will happen next. Typically they get their scenes a week before the tape (which unless there are rewrites), is a long enough time to learn. Paul made a comment about watching a recent episode that he was on just to see himself, which was interesting solely because so many performers have a hang-up about watching themselves in any performance.
Sal spoke about how she moved into her current dressing room after Marcie Miller (Abby) left, and that she wanted it due to their friendship. Sal and Lamon spoke about how they both worked with Darnell Williams on different shows (Sal as his daughter on "All My Children" on Hulu), and Lamon as his nephew on "The Young and the Restless"). There was a joke how they are now cousins of some sort for that reason. They spoke about reading the scripts at night, and that Sal sleeps with hers under her pillow. If you like Sal and Lamon this was a good listen.
This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.
