Days: Thoughts about the Marlena story (so far)

This post is about the situation with Marlena and John and the aftermath of their wedding through the September 28, 2018 episode of "Days of Our Lives".

So John and Marlena planned to wed again, they got to the altar in late August, but before they said "I do" Sami ran in, and "Susan" was revealed as Kristen with the teeth going flying. Kristen told Sami to shoot John, so she would share where EJ was, as he wasn't dead. Sami, who had been drugged, nearly did shoot, as Eric trying to push the gun away, and Marlena was hit. Later Kristen was nearly caught, and she and Paul fell. Paul is in the hospital, and may never walk again (and since Will remembers Sonny) probably would have lost Will if he wasn't paralysed. So poor John, his nearly wife, and his son both in the hospital due to Kristen. Marlena was seriously injured, had major surgery, and then developed sepsis. Belle found an advanced directive, and told Kayla. Then unknowingly to the audience swapped Marlena and Hattie. The plug was pulled, "Marlena" woke up, but it was actually Hattie. Marlena was in another part of the hospital, and John, Roman, and Kayla were hiding her. Once Hattie woke up, she was sweet to Eric, but mean to everyone else - as she felt that Belle and Sami both tried to kill Marlena. Hattie was suspicious of what would happen once Marlena got better, and when Belle was there mentioned getting married. John was horrified, but had to hide it. Kristen went to "Marlena's bed" and didn't believe Hattie, until she did. Kristen then went to find Marlena elsewhere in University Hospital. Eventually Belle went to Abe, and Abe arrived to marry John and Hattie. To make it legal, Hattie got a new marriage license. As John and Hattie got married, Kristen arrived at Marlena's bedside, and Marlena had just woken up.

Well that was a cliffhanger, which was a good thing. I'm just wondering how much longer they can run this as an A-story. I mean Hattie does have to be discovered, as does Marlena and Kristen. I'm hoping it will be before Christmas, for John and Marlena to really wed for good.
