Katie and Wyatt broke up on "The Bold and the Beautiful", but by the end of February they were engaged. Below are my thoughts on this development.
Katie (Heather Tom) and Wyatt (Darren Brooks) started becoming friends while working together. While in Monaco, they realized they liked each other, and eventually they decided to have a no strings attached relationship. At first they kept it quiet from everyone, but eventually Eric (John McCook) found out, and later Quinn (Rena Sofer) knew, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was told, as was Liam (Scott Clifton) though that was months later. Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) kissed Katie at the reception for Ridge and Brooke, and Wyatt saw it through her telescope. He ended it, due to thinking Katie was no longer interested. Thorne found out due to seeing Katie's phone and a message from Wyatt.
Thorne's discovery that was it was Wyatt caused issues, as he deleted a message Wyatt left for Katie. Once Katie knew the truth they decided to become an actual "public" couple. He proposed, though trouble should be ahead as from Bill (Don Diamont).
The thing I appreciate most about Wyatt and Katie is that this is not a relationship the show has done numerous times. It hasn't been a revolving door or a triangle, which is refreshing. That said, I do think Katie being with her son's half-brother is a bit too close of a family tie, but considering Bill slept with his daughter-in-law, and the amount of men in the same family that Brooke has slept with, it shouldn't be seen as awful as they are consenting adults.
