Soap Stars in Other Places: Body Language

The game show "Body Language" aired on CBS in the mid-1980s. Below I've embedded a link that had soap star contestants and write about the program.

The game show was hosted by Tom Kennedy, and typically featured two regular people and two celebrities. This episode from November 1985 had four celebrities playing the game. Sports stars Steve Sax of LA Dodgers fame and Lynn Swan, broadcaster and former Pittsburgh Steeler known for doing ballet; and Melody Thomas, best known as Nikki on "The Young and the Restless" (this was before she and Ed Scott married) and Catherine Hickland who was Julie on "Capitol" though most people think of her for her more recent role of "One Life to Live" as Lindsay. When this was taped, she was Mrs. David Hasselhoff, who is referenced just as David in this show.

Body Language was a variation of celebrity charades. You figure out the words through gestures, and then to win you have to guess a phrase based on what was acted out earlier. The winning team would reach $500, and then they could play for $10,000.

Everyone was playing for charity, which was a good thing. Unfortunately only one episode of this week is available, so there is no way to know how much money was raised.
