The reigns have changed again at Forrester Creations, as Eric (John McCook) has stepped down as head of the company. Below are my thoughts about this development.
Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was given the job of CEO, which in some ways was surprising as she is now her father Ridge's (Thorsten Kaye) boss. She is also younger than any of the other executives. Then Eric announced that Wyatt (Darin Brooks) would be part of the executive group, which was a promotion. Quinn (Rena Sofer) was glad her husband did that for her son, but surprised. Eric decided to keep Quinn in the position of president. Both Ridge and Rick (Jacob Young) would remain in their vice president jobs as lead designer and head of international respectively. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) wasn't happy as both her son and her on-off love/fiance/husband etc, were passed over for Steffy. Eric felt betrayed by his two sons, which is why he made this decision.
I'm hoping this gives decent story. Having Steffy in charge is something a bit different as both Ridge and Eric have had turns in the big chair. Showing someone be a strong and powerful woman without it being about her sexual wiles would be great. It has been a long time since that has happened, as obviously Steffy may have been chosen due to family ties, but is seemingly competent. Please let this cause a war where there is a victor and victims.
This blog is mainly about soaps, though it will sometimes veer into other topics. The main purpose is to provide a space for when board discussion isn't enough as sometimes my thoughts and feelings take on a life of their own. Even if some of the shows I enjoy have been cancelled, I will continue to post about them. They may take away the shows, but they can't destroy the love.
