Thanksgiving Preemptions 2016

Below is the status of the daytime soaps for the US holiday of Thanksgiving in 2016.

There are no new soap episodes on either Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 24 or Friday, November 25. If you watch international soaps, obviously since they don't celebrate they will air their episodes as normal.

ABC: "General Hospital" will be on Thursday, but it is a rerun from earlier in the year. On Friday, a college football game will air with the teams yet to be announced.

CBS: This year the network has the early NFL game on Thursday between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions starting at 12:30 pm ET. On Friday, a rerun of "The Price is Right" is scheduled, with a best of college football special beginning at 1:30 pm with Arkansas versus Missouri starting at 2:30 pm. This means they will not be airing "The Bold and the Beautiful" or "The Young and the Restless" either day.

NBC: Thursday on NBC has "The National Dog Show" on for two hours starting at 12 pm ET, which is followed by a repeat of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast from the morning. On Friday, "Days of Our Lives" will be preempted by the New York Rangers against the Philadelphia Flyers NHL game.

Thanksgiving is a great weekend if you're a sports fan, and a respite for soap fans to do other things. Hopefully you'll have a good holiday weekend.
