Unlike many of my posts, this one is a full on rant. I just can't abide by Liam (Scott Clifton) and Quinn (Rena Sofer). This is not judgment on the performance skills of the actors, but on their current plot-line on "The Bold and the Beautiful".
Liam has amnesia and believes he is in a committed relationship with Quinn. He isn't really questioning anything like how her name is Eve and his is Adam. This is completely ludicrous. What makes it worse is that Quinn and Liam had sex. He can't consent to having sex with his current issues, as he has a head injury, which is making him ill. Liam isn't married to Quinn, as he believes at the moment. She's just his half-brother's mom. He wouldn't give her the time of day normally and hates her. Also he has gone missing and no one seems to notice or care including his father. He has an extremely high powered position and his departure raises no flags, seriously?
If this isn't rape, without it being called it, I don't know what it is. Is this supposed to be funny, as I'm not laughing. This hits my squick button really hard, and I don't get how anyone can ship this, as it is wrong in so many ways. If the situation was reversed, and the person in control was a man, and his victim a woman, would the opinion on this plot be the same? That I'm not certain about, but it stands to reason that some may take more offensive if other characters were in the story. Quinn is supposed to be a crazy villain, but due to how soaps ignore male rape I don't know if Liam will get justice. Will he feel ashamed to be victimized and not tell the truth to anyone? We'll see, but a part of me wants this to end quickly as material like this is no laughing matter.
