Flashes of the Past: Soap Opera Bistro

In 2001 and 2002, Disney California Adventure had an ABC Daytime-themed restaurant called the ABC Soap Opera Bistro. Below the cut is a video of nearly nine minutes in length to show was it was like. Thanks goes to the YouTube poster.

This venue had rooms focusing on each of the ABC soaps at the time: "All My Children", "General Hospital", "One Life to Live" and "Port Charles". If you listen in the background you hear the GH theme song of that era. Restaurants and other sections of soap towns were faithfully created and you could see "scenes" acted out right in front of you. It is too bad the venue wasn't more successful, but I think it is a cool idea that ABC and Disney used this to cross promote the soaps.
