Thoughts on "The Doctors" - December 1968

Another month's worth of episodes of "The Doctors" has aired on RetroTV. Below are my thoughts on what has aired for the month of December 1968.

Nick and Althea continued to be happy, but there was some discomfort as Nick feels like a visitor moving in with Althea and Penny. They celebrated the holidays together, and Nick told the ladies that some things about him won't change like how he watches more than one football game at the same time. This amused me as he isn't the only person to do that

Anna and Ed seem to be on their way out of Hope Memorial. Anna is getting ready to be released and got a job doing Public Relations writing for a hospital in California. Ed plans to go back to medical school to refresh his knowledge as he hadn't been practicing for years due to his guilt over Anna's injuries.

Nancy and Mike continued to get closer. She was a comfort to him, when he received a bad report from school. Matt wasn't as understanding to his son as expected, which frustrated Mike. Maggie still wants to have a child of her own with Matt, though she has yet to get pregnant.

Phillip Townsend kidnapped Liz as he believes she's his lost daughter Melissande. Everyone believes Liz is in Paris with her father, but instead she's being held hostage in Townsend's creepy mansion. Carolee began to be skeptical as she didn't say goodbye. Nick thought something was wrong as Liz isn't the type of person to not get in contact with her friends. Jody Lee is baffled and seemed to give up on Liz. Hopefully someone will think to get in touch with Liz's father and realize what's wrong.

Karen and Steve fought again. Steve looked into moving back into intern housing. Instead they reunited, but things between them are strained. Carolee is giving him a comforting shoulder, though there is nothing going on between them romantically.

Those were the highlights of December 1968. I loved seeing Matt break the fourth wall and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Having the others (Maggie, Althea and Nick) join in was a welcome surprise. It amazes me that we've gotten a years worth of "The Doctors" already, and hope we get more episodes for years to come.
